Lets hear everyone's prediction for 08.

First Dem or Republican?

And then who do you think will get the Dem nomination?

Who do you think will get the Republican Nomination?

And Who do you think will be the Next President?

I really have no idea who will get Dem nomination. I would think the Dem's would not be stupid enough to offer Hitlery or Obama but then again they gave us Kerry last time.

I think Rudy Giuliani will get the Republican nomination. And I think he will be the Next President.

I am waiting for a guy to stand up for shutting off the border, kicking out the illegals, getting serious with this war, calling the libs out for the traitors they are, and one who will ask Hillery to prove we need gun control by taking a bullet to the brain.

If Hillary wins I am moving to Canada! O wait, I do not think I am welcome there. Crap were will I go then? I doubt they want me in Mexico after some of my illegal immigration comments.

Guess I just better pray Rudy wins and Frankk is wrong!

Or I could take the Baldwin approach and just not honor my word.

Thats the guy who would get my vote.

Frank, I think you might be right about it being between Rudy and hitlery. I wish the Republicans could find a strong conservative instead of Rudy, but it's sure not looking that way.

I realize that a lot of conservatives might just stay at home instead of voting in the general election if Rudy is their only choice. But even taking that into consideration, I just don't see how hitlery can beat a liberal like Rudy.

My prediction is that if GW and crew don't make some fast moves (may already be too late) -- like true border security, ending the problems in Iraq, an enforced immigration law, a nationwide healthcare plan, putting the consumers/public ahead of the corporates and multinationals worldwide trade at all costs, etc., etc.- whoever is the Democratic candidate ( even Hitlery   ) will win...

We are still in a continuation of the 06 "kick the bastards out" backlash movement against the Republican Party for the several years of a Republican controlled White House and hill that did nothing except avoid enforcing laws and rules that were on the books that they were sworn to enforce- along with the fact that so many of what is usually thought of as "the law and order party" were caught up and still are in major scandals...The Dems are putting themselves out to be the only ones that care for the poor, working class, middle class- while the Repubs are appearing daily as the party of the wealthy elites....And without the Reagan Democrats- a Republican won't get back in...

You will see the Democrats do a major sweep of the White House and Congress with even more Dems winning election to the Hill....A scarey scenerio of more Liberal power...

Rudy would be Hitlery's worse nightmare. I really do not think (and I pray) that she can win it against most any Republican. But just to be safe Rudy might be the best one for the Republicans as far as making sure another Clinton is not in office.

If McCain got the nomination, I would be just a little scared that he would mess it up somehow and loose to her.

To bad ole Jeb Bush won't run we could just make it a 3-peat. For sure we would have some interesting conversations on the board that way.

I think you might be correct, I would think that the Dem's would not take a chance on a Black Man or a Woman at this time. I think that either might take away some votes that they would automatically get for the above reasons you listed.

If the Dem's would offer a decent, likable White Man I think the Republicans would have a heck of a fight on their hands, and the Dem's could scoot in on the anti-Bush anti-Republican platform.

Ps. before I get called a racist, I would vote for Condoleeza Rice in heartbeat and she is a black woman, but I think a black man and a woman both have a long row to hoe just because of the prejudice they will have to over come.

You might be called a misogynist because you mentioned a black woman and hoe in the same sentence.

At this point in time, of those who have thrown their hat into the ring, I think Fred Thompson would be the best choice to become President of the United States in 1908. He seems to have more common sense and integrity than any of the other candidates from either party.

Soap, Do we really need to worry about the presidency in the year 1908?
Or is this a joke??

Keep in mind, Katrina, that I am from the old school. All my years growing up, the checks already had the "19" filled in. There are tombstones in the cemetary that already had the "19" filled in, before the person ever died. All of a sudden the year 2000 came along and flubbed up the pattern. People lived longer than they were expected to, and now those high-priced tombstones are chiseled in wrong. :( :)

You need to figure out what I meant and not what I wrote. How about this? As of right now (2007), I would like to see Fred Thompson get elected to be President in 2008, and take that office on January 20, 2009. Are you okay with that? :)

There isn't a person with the last name Bush that would stand a snowball's chance in heck in 2008 of getting elected to nationwide office and it is going to be hard for anyone from the GOP to win even if Hillary or Obama are the competition....

I like Fred Thompson on a lot of things but there have been a few things that he says that have rubbed me the wrong way over the years... Right now I wish I could remember them  . Good news for him is that he is a polished speaker and an actor so he kind of has that going for him for speaches and the like...

Some folks who know better than I are pushing Tommy Thompson.. I don't know, he has the stink or at least the perception of the stink, of the Bush Administration on him even though he left.. I think OT is just right.. I think you are going to see a Democrat for President if things stay on the current course...

Trade Issues

On the issue of trade, Hunter has repeatedly voted against international trade agreements such as NAFTA, CAFTA and the WTO.[16] Hunter contends that free trade policies directly impact America's manufacturing base and contribute to the country's burgeoning trade deficit. Hunter cites that China has a 17% subsidy for its manufacturers, a 17% tax on U.S. imports, and the Chinese devalue their currency at 40 percent making Chinese goods cheaper and leaving U.S. manufacturers at a 74% disadvantage. Many nations have enacted less dramatic, but very significant, unfair taxes and practices that give them a large advantage.[17] Hunter wants fair trade so the U.S. may be on a level playing field, and does not want the fruits of unfair trade practices to be used against the U.S. economically and militarily.[18]

so far of all the republican candidates Duncan Hunter "seems" to be one of the most knowledgeable on the conservative issues...
