Boy, 4, shoots babysitter
Sitter hospitalized with shotgun pellet wounds to his arm and side

JACKSON, Ohio - Police say a 4-year-old boy in southern Ohio shot his babysitter because the sitter accidentally stepped on his foot. Police said 18-year-old Nathan Beavers and several other teenagers were babysitting several young children in a mobile home in Jackson on Sunday when the shooting occurred.

Witnesses told police the 4-year-old retrieved the shotgun from a bedroom closet and shot Beavers. Police said the child was angry because Beavers accidentally stepped on his foot.

Beavers was hospitalized with minor pellet wounds to his arm and side.

Police say another teen was also injured with shotgun pellets.

Jackson County Sheriff John Shashteen said authorities are investigating the shooting. The child has not been charged.

Who should be tried for this is there are charges? In my opinion how could the child? Wouldn't it more lay on the shoulders of the unresponsible gun owners?

not me!

might be Kola, she is kinda trigger happy..

but a baby sitter who would let a kid have a gun should have been shot.. but the first time she was shot, maybe the kid should have used a BB gun.

Must be me, cuz I'm a liberal.

it couldn't have been a city liberal..

most city liberals either turned in their guns, they had them stolen or they sold um for drugs..

Would a babysitter think there was a gun in your closet? I mean is there supposed to be any danger in letting a kid in their parents closet?

Why is it the babysitters fault?

I never said it was her fault,, I said a baby sitter who would let a kid have a gun should have been shot..

if I am supposed to find fault, then I guess I have to blame NoNothing..

How scary though for a four year old to get upset and go get a gun.

The kid had to have known where the gun was...and he had to have known how it operated...and the gun had to have been already loaded...meaning the parents were Stooooopid! Parents better be glad they didn't do anything to the piss the kid off. Forewarned is forearmed, Mom and Dad.

Oh, head's up, CPS!!!!!

It's the gun's fault. The child is obviously neglected, probably because of Bush's tax cuts that only benefitted only the wealthy which is forcing the parents to drink heavily and smoke crack. It's not the babysitter's fault because, hey, like they were getting paid to watch the kid?

This does not add up there were other teens there with the babysitter and the child. I suspect the teenagers fired the gun and are blaming it on the child.
