Who is the real RINO?
By JOE SCARBOROUGH | 11/28/11 2:52 PM EST

The insult du jour for Republican candidates this election cycle is being labeled a RINO, a Republican in Name Only. Unfortunately, the insult has been so overused lately it's been rendered meaningless. The insult is even emptier because it is so detached from actual statements, campaign promises and voting records.

A candidate like Newt Gingrich can get away with supporting the biggest socialist scheme in American government over the past 30 years because he says nasty things about the press and calls Barack Obama a Marxist. Jon Huntsman, on the other hand, can have a stellar conservative record as Utah's governor, be anti-abortion and adored by the NRA. But if he refuses to spit out angry screeds against Obama, he's dismissed as a RINO, the facts be damned.

So as a public service to POLITICO readers, I, your humble conservative servant, have put together a "Who is the Real RINO?" test. based on voting records, candidate quotes and facts! (Shocking, I know.)

Give it up, Dead Horse Beater.

I think EVERYONE here, with the exception of you and a small handful of other misguided souls, realizes that anybody, including the Village Idiot, could do a better job as POTUS than the one you fall down on your knees for.

Funny thing is, the exceedingly few triumphs TWAP has had are all due to one man. That's right, the one you blame for everything, George W. Bush.

So grab that bottle, take a few long pulls on it, kill some more of the remaining brain cells you have, and keep on singing the praises of your Messiah. Even your butt sharkin' pal Barney Frank has enough sense to get out while the gettin' is good. You should do the same.

Oldtimers pretty scared that this election we might actually have a choice between a conservative and a liberal instead of between a liberal and a liberal.
what's oldtimer's choice? Depends!

Actually this guy highlights with this article the candidate that I like the best... But he's been overlooked by the radical right because he is not standing on a soapbox calling everyone else names- and saying he will help lead the country into anarchy with radical change and rewriting the Constitution ...

We'd do good by knowing his choice........................

With his record of judging character just vote the opposite way!

Sometimes I agree with that...Worst mistake I made was voting for GW...

Never voted for Clinton - and still wish Perot would have gotten in...Still believe this country would be in much better shape..

I thought Huntsman was the conducted himself the best and was the most "presidential" of the candidates during the debate I saw.

I still believe a 3rd party is coming in the future if not in this presidential election. I might add that I heard today on tv that Congess' approval rating haad dropped to 9%-the lowest ever recorded.

so you are looking for a liberal Republican nominee, are you?

At this point a moderate or even someone a little left of centre would be a good thing.....

"RINO" goes back to the days when the majority of Republicans were Conservatives, does it not?

Republicans today are not Conservatives, on the whole, Most are RINOS, which just shows you how the parties have shifted left.

Bush was a RINO, IMO and the only cure for his policies and opinions in a "Leftist's" mind is to shift further left.

Good luck with your Europeanized USA
