Who is "We"?

President Barack Obama said in Turkey : "We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. Weconsider ourselves a nation ofcitizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values."

"We" means "Obama"

Webster gives this definition of we: "Used by sovereigns and high officials or by editors and writers in place of "I"."

We, the people, grateful to Almighty God for our freedom . Establish this Constitution.

Soap- Muslims, Christians, and Jews all worship God....

And the First Amendment plus other sections of the Constitution and Declaration of the Independence give people religious freedom to practice any religion with the establishment of no state religion...

That is the reason many of our forefathers fled the old countries....

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

They may all worship A God but they do not all Worship the Almighty God as you pointed out in with the Nebraska preamble.

It is impossible for them to all be worshipping the same God, they all teach to many conflicting doctrines for their worship to be to the same God!

When the vast majority of any populace identifies with a certain religion, regardless of the government's official position, that still makes that nation a nation of that religion.

It is not the same. Some people worship Satan, so he is their god.

We were founded as a Christian nation, following Christian principles, and have been very blessed for well over two centuries because of our loyalty to the real God. When we, as a nation, eliminate God from our plans, it will not take Him long to "unbless" our once great nation.

Obama doesn't speak for me and my family. Maybe he is talking about Washington DC.

I can't believe that a religion that believes in bombings, mass destruction. killing, and other forms of violence really worship a true God. Defence is another mater. We may not always do what is right but we try to.

"bound by ideals and a set of values"

Where do these "Ideals and set of values come from?
They are based on English law, which was based on natural law as defined by Christian values. Thomas Aquinas did much to define natural law as applied by Christian values.
The British never had a written "constitution" as the U.S. does, but the U. S. constitution follows much of the English "unwritten" Constitution.
The Muslims seem to have taken another direction in natural law. They do claim to have the same "God of Abraham" that the Jewish and Christians claim, but seem to have a much different idea of who God is than Christians do.

What about Ireland?

What about it, BMR? There will always be religious zealots and fanatics that embrace violence to further their religious cause...a cause that usually boils down to power rather than true religion...

What about Ireland?

acquisition of territory...really as simple as that,... British took it.. British decided to leave but kept part of it.. Irish started fighting again over that issue.. it just happened that the unionists, nationalists and British do not share the same Christian denominations.. it is sad they drug religion into a nasty turf war...

It is also a known fact that in Ireland those who got involved in violence abandoned their religion.
The Crusades were started to protect those who made pilgrimages to Jerusalem and later many of the Crusaders got out of control.

That's just an aside, as it were. Yes, many of the Crusaders got out of control...after the fact.

From what I learned and studied, it was for territorial gain and power.
