The world and our country of today is a lot different than the world of 1797... No matter how bad you would like to go back to the beliefs of those days- its not going to happen...

That's the stupidest thing I've ever read!!!

So we might as well throw out the Constitution, our Founders Beliefs, and all other documents relating to that time?

Abandon our Core beliefs?

One Supreme Court Justice in 1797 does not make up our "Core beliefs" ....

This was important to our founding fathers- and there apparently was a reason that the main group of them wanted to make this point so clear.....

1st Amendment
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Article VI
All Debts contracted and Engagements entered into, before the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be as valid against the United States under this Constitution, as under the Confederation.

This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.

The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.

Can you tell us of any one instance where Congress tried to passed a law respecting the establishment of a religion?

It has never happened, but they have tried to prohibit the free exercise of religions, as recently as obamacare...

The original, very first Supreme Court Chief Justice might just know a thing or two about the founding core beliefs of our nation.

At least more than yourself. For you to believe that you know more man he is highly egoist and totally narcissist.

You do not have to point out any religious wording of the Constitution or Founding documents. As a student of Jefferson and a descendent of the same, I have most likely studied it much more than you.
