I can't remember which of you predicted this- maybe both-- but you hit the nail on the head....

Bristol Palin, Fiance Call Off Engagement
Source say the split occurred a few weeks ago, and that it was mutual between Bristol, 18, and Levi Johnston.

FOXNews.com

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

The teenage daughter of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her fiance have broken up just over two months after the birth of the couple's child.

People.com reported Wednesday that sources said the split between Bristol Palin, 18, and Levi Johnston, 19 occurred a few weeks ago, and Johnston confirmed to the Associated Press that he and Bristol mutually decided to end their relationship "a while ago." He did not elaborate.

Palin said in a statement to the Associated Press that she is "devastated."

The young Palin told FOX News' Greta van Susteren that they intended to get married after they both finished high school.

"Eventually, we'd like to get married. We're focusing on, like, getting through school and just getting an education and stuff, getting a career going," Palin said. She also told FOX News that her and Johnston didn't find being young parents "glamorous," and they both felt having kids should wait.

The pregnancy was announced last summer days after her mother, Alaska's governor, was named John McCain's running mate on the Republican presidential ticket.

Palin gave birth Dec. 27 to a boy named Tripp.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

C'mon, VanC, you know if it was their daughter they would be splashing it all over the world as well, right?

As soon as I read that story I knew that ot would gain orgasmic delight in rushing it to the attention the readers of ranchers.

You are wrong.

If he wishes her well he would not continually find delight in making a spectacle of her.

His actions consistently portray him to be a bitter, mean-spirited old man and yet you and a few others on here continually rush to defend him.

What does that say about you?

Bristol Palin wouldn't even be an issue- if her mother hadn't made her one... And actually its her mother and her beliefs that are the issue- her opposition to sex education and birth control, while promoting abstinence only....
But lately Bristols going on the talk shows- doing interviews - and wanting to be a spokesperson about teenage pregnancy definitely isn't the actions of someone that doesn't want to be an issue..

Leave the child alone. She has had too much attention given to her and now is going to have a very tough road ahead of her.
Will you post "stories" about her failing a class? How about her having to choose between an exam and a sick baby?
Her Mom wanted the truth before the left wing media twisted her daughter being with child. The child is the one who agreed to the Greta show.......Mom found out after. How many times do children want to do something that is NOT in their best intrests? The interviews were NOT in her best intrests.

really I feel sorry for you to find joy in this. Gawd I can only pray that for the grace of God go YOU...Not That is a very hard road no one should have to walk.

Well r2 and ot, you can spin it any way you want but the indisputable fact is that ot DID deliberately choose to bring the girl into the forum once again for the purpose of public humiliation. What kind of perv gets his (or her, by association) jollies out of doing this?

Guess I should delete my post about it in Coffee Shop then.

I think we both said she'd move on as he was just a ' stage prop' for the campaign.

Man, I bet he was relieved when McCain lost....cause if they'd won....he'd have had to gone thru with it.

Finally , this gal has seen the light. She has learned her lesson....and will raise her child the best she can and I'm sure they all will do quiet well and life will roll on for her.

I wish her the best and glad she got rid of the 'dead wood' in her life.

Since Oldtimer wants to talk about the misfortunes of a youth, maybe we should discuss the Washington DC underprivledge students that just got their bright futures to a good education ripped from them due to the Bill, The democrats wrote, passed and Obama just signed. You know the one Oldtimer the one that discontinues the funding for 2 students in Obama's daughter's school.

How about we talk about those youth that are in the news today.

It's the best thing for the both of them, Bristol and Levi...and for the little one...as long as, when the child's old enough to understand, he knows who his father and his father's family is.

A lot more religious than you would believe- burnt...Except my God is a loving, caring God and a lot more tolerant than apparently the one purportedly followed by some of the rightwingernuts..

It was a lot less obvious than calling the first lady an orangutan

Should the family of politicians be off limits?

Again, what did OT say that was negative about Bristol Palin? I do agree the tone was gleeful but how do you know it wasn't due to the hero worship of Levi Johnson that certain people here engaged in???

Could you take it as a compliment if I would say that you discredit yourself unusually badly tonite?
