as Keith Jackson the sportscaster used to say. For two reasons.

1. The first wave of the storm hit here in NE MO yesterday. Not a lot of ice but what we had was very treacherous. Had sleet overnite so not quite as bad this am but they say more to come.

2. More importantly, long term is what I saw and heard on Market to Market last nite. Click on Market Analysis and Market Plus to hear at this site; http://www.iptv.org/mtom/.

Very disturbing for ranchers and all livestock producers. I think all cattlemen whether they be R-Calf, NCBA or whatever ought to encourage our legislators and the ethanol industry to slow the ethanol train down because there is a 'sharp curve' coming up and it may very well be travelling too fast.

I doubt if it's possible to slow down that ethanol train. Probably be better off to spend your time getting ready for the wreck. What Washington politician is going to stick his neck out to try to curtail ethanol production? He would be demonized by the Democratic leadership as anti-environment, anti-farmer, pro-big oil, pro-OPEC, pro-terrorist, etc.

Just read this morning that some legislators are proposing to make the $1 per gallon of Ethanol Tax Credits permanent. :???:

Notice that oil is around $50 bucks now?
