Who's house is who's?

I received this from another ranchers.net member via email. I thought it was pretty dang good! Makes a person think! I wish we'd given thought to the cistern for irrigation (but then we'd need moisture too!) when we got our house. We do have the geothermal heating and cooling system.

Cheers---

TTB

LOOK OVER THE DESCRIPTIONS OF THE FOLLOWING TWO HOUSES

AND SEE IF YOU CAN TELL WHICH BELONGS TO AN ENVIRONMENTALIST.

HOUSE # 1:

A 20-room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house all heated by gas. In ONE MONTH ALONE this mansion consumes more energy than the average American household in an ENTIRE YEAR. The average bill for electricity and natural gas
runs over $2,400.00 per month. In natural gas alone (which last time we checked was a fossil fuel), this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not in a northern or Midwestern "snow belt," either. It's in the South.

HOUSE # 2:

Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university, this house incorporates every "green" feature current home construction can provide. The house contains only 4,000 square feet (4 bedrooms) and is nestled on arid high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds
geothermal heat pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground. The water (usually 67 degrees F.) heats the house in winter and cools it in summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas, and
it consumes 25% of the electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into
underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Flowers and shrubs native to the area blend the property into the surrounding rural landscape.

HOUSE # 1 (20 room energy guzzling mansion) is outside of Nashville , Tennessee . It is the abode of that renowned environmentalist (and filmmaker) Al Gore.

HOUSE # 2 (model eco-friendly house) is on a ranch near Crawford , Texas . Also known as "the Texas White House," it is the private residence of the President of the United States , George W. Bush.

Yep.. But Snopes status on the e-mail is True, that in essance it is true with "some" mitigatiing circumsatances to slightly justify the Gore expenses, being that the house is 4 times larger than the average American home and it acts as an office as wel as a residence... To me, one who does believe in conserving energy if you can, and who thinks green credits are total and utter BS, finds it humours at best when people do not practice what they preach when it comes to things like this... It is his choice to live in a 20 room home, it was his choice to have his campaign drive around in Suburbans every where they went, it is choice to be profiting my his investment in green energy and it is my choice to think he is a fraud for chastizing others for making those same consumption decisions. Heck, if he really believe in it, why not live a carbon sequestering lifestyle instead of a carbon neutrel?

O'Reilly had the chance to tear Kerry and Heinz-Kerry apart last night and didn't...He's written an eviro book now too- and justify's his fuel use flying all over the country, gas guzzler limo, and big house with these green credits he's buying  Crock of Bull as far as I'm concerned...

O'Reilly let me down- but you could still see thru their hypocritical way of living....

No, Kola, you don't get the point. You are not "bad" if you do those things. You are only bad if you do those things, but demand that the rest of us don't do those things. That is why we condemn Goofy Gore. He does not, and I repeat does not practice what he preaches.

The only way you are "bad" in this deal is because you condone the actions of Gore. Thus you are guilty by association. Birds of a feather hang together. Don't hang out with left wing lunatics, and you won't be judged a left wing lunatic.
