The Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) have ceased combat operations in Syria following the death of YPG officials, according to sources who spoke with American Military News. In recent months, Turkey has all but refocused their attacks from the Islamic State to the YPG, sending a series of air strikes to bomb frontline units as they work with coalition forces to combat ISIS in Syria and Iraq.

ISTANBUL – A convoy of Turkish military vehicles has relocated to a base near the Syrian border as tensions with U.S.-backed Kurdish militants escalate.

Footage shot Friday night shows armored vehicles and personnel carriers on the road. Private Ihlas news agency reports they were moved to Sanliurfa province from Kilis in the west with the completion of Turkey's cross-border operation in Syria and may be used against Syrian Kurdish militants or YPG "if needed."

Turkey has been shelling both Kurdish fighters of the Popular Protection Units (YPG) and so-called Islamic State inside northern Syria.

The YPG are widely regarded as one of the most effective forces in the fight against IS and attacks on them have prompted calls from the UN, US and EU for Turkey to show restraint.

Ankara says it is retaliating against what it calls provocations by the YPG but it has long warned against the group making territorial advances in northern Syria near its border.

Kurds accuse Turkey of using the US-led coalition against IS as a cover to attack the PKK in both Turkey and Iraq, and now against the YPG in northern Syria. The Kurds say Turkey's bombardment of their positions is helping IS to attack Kurdish-held frontline areas in Syria and Iraq. Turkish bombardments have also angered Iraqi Kurds, since IS has increased its attacks against Iraqi Kurdish forces in the Makhmur area near the city of Mosul.

"Turkey shamelessly and openly backs IS and al-Qaeda terrorists against Kurdish freedom fighters," Sadi Pria, a top Iraqi Kurdish official in Irbil

Every since the Turks denied our overflight of their territory in the first gulf war, I have questioned who's side they are really on. Now it seems they have shown they will attack our allies with out regard to the goal of stopping isis..

We have two real allies in the middle east, the Israelis and the Kurds. Turkey may be part of NATO, but it is not an ally I would trust.

It's best that I don't have a say in our military decisions. I'd blow a crater in the ground where Turkey stood before I went to bed the first night. After a good nights sleep, I'd proceed with removing anything related to Islam in Iran and set up a secular government that wanted nothing more than to wipe Islam off the map. Then I'd fund them with all they needed to light the entire Saudi fields on fire with the royal family tied to the last pump. At that point, I'd open it up for creative brain storming in regards to any country that did not denounce the terrorist organization that is Islam.

from a few months ago when Turkey was attempting to "interfer" in EU elections.

Turkey Threatens Europeans: You "Will Not Walk Safely In The Streets" If Current Attitude Persists

Having already told Europe "we'll blow your mind" with a threat to unleash 15,000 immigrants per month,Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan escalated his rhetoric this morning warning Europeans across the world would not be able to walk safely on the streets if they kept up their current attitude.

Tensions have accelerated since Turkey became embroiled in a row with Germany and the Netherlands over the barring of campaign appearances by Turkish officials seeking to drum up support for an April referendum on boosting Erdogan's powers. Today's comments are the most aggressive yet...(via Reuters)

"If Europe continues this way, no European in any part of the world can walk safely on the streets. We, as Turkey, call on Europe to respect human rights and democracy," Erdogan said at event for local journalists in Ankara

some gall, threaten to unleash hords of immigrants, as he "call on Europe to respect human rights and democracy"!  maybe someone should let him know threats of violence is not supporting human rights, nor democracy.. :?

sadly the Netherlands caved..

and now..
Last week, Turkey struck at YPG positions inside Syria, killing 20 fighters and media activists, according to the group, prompting Kurdish parties to call for a U.S.-enforced no-fly-zone over northern Syria.

A U.S. air lift of artillery and special forces advisers to place them behind IS lines in March was a turning point in the Tabqa offensive and underscored the closeness between Washington and the SDF. U.S. troops were seen Saturday in armored vehicles in Syria in Kurdish areas in a show of force apparently intended to dissuade Turkey and Syrian Kurdish forces from attacking one another. Kurdish officials describe the U.S. troop movement as "buffer" between them and Turkey.

ANKARA, Turkey -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says his country may take further military action against Kurdish militants in Iraq and Syria, saying U.S. support for such groups "must come to an end." Erdogan said: "We will be forced to continue (our offensives). We won't provide a date and time for when we'll come. But they will know that the Turkish military can come."

So now bombing the Kurds means bombing the US..
