Yes it is true what I am about to say. But how about some outside perspective on this issue, from you Canadians?

IF and I use the word IF, America was unjust in going to war with Iraq. Do we owe it to their people to do everything in our power and finances to help make that nation whole again?
Hmmm,interesting....am I setting myself up for an attack :???: But I do think you owe it to Iraq to help rebuild. I also think that they can help foot the bill if they're rich in resource money but I think American labour would help. That being said I'm not opposed to Canada stepping in and also helping Iraq rebuild thier country.

BTW...If you noticed...I didn't say America was unjust in going into Iraq...I have NEVER EVER said that......I decieded YEARS ago during Vietnam that I would never put down a war our soldiers{North America and Great Britian} are in because it would undermine a job "our" soldiers are doing.

What you owe Iraq is meaningless now.....It has come to the point of what Iraq owes Iraq....until Iraq finds peaceful common ground within its borders rebuilding it is moot...

It is time for America to leave with the promise of rebuilding when Iraq becomes a peaceful and non threating world country...Why just build them up again if they do not comply to some kind of world peace code....

Whats done is done, right or wrong we all have our views...Does the USA owe the good people of Iraq a better infrastructure ?My opion is yes,but no one would trust the man who burned down thier own house to rebuild it....

Iraq needs to find its place again without American involvement..I think its time for America to go home.

I also believe that letting Iraq pay for most of the clean up would bring pride to its country, showing the world they have raised up themselves..

So my advice is get out and see what develops,if they need help rebuilding we will know after 2 years of freedom ..Then if needed ask other countries to rebuild, while the USA and all other countries who invaded including Britain, to fund all rebuilding projects needing done..

It is time for the USA to give back to its own people now and let Iraq find its own home again....

No set up! Just looking for some outside opinions.

Ps. I respect your views on not putting down a war while soldiers are fighting it! Wish more people shared those views in America!

Lastly, I don't take your comments about rebuilding the country seriously. If I searched around in the archives here at Ranchers, I wouldn't be surprised to find something like this from you: "well, it's a war. So what if a million Iraqis died." Or "4,000 dead American soldiers? They knew the dangers and still volunteered." It's pretty obvious that you're searching for something, anything to blame this fiasco on. With Bush's disapproval rating the highest for any president, ever, it's obvious who the American people blame. George W. Bush.

One thing I will credit Bush for and say thank you. All across this country, Democratic registrations are up, especially among the younger generation. That bodes well for the future of the national Democratic Party. :D

I am not searching for anything, I never said I believed we owed it to the Iraqi's to rebuild their nation. I said IF a person believed the war was unjust they should be willing to rebuild. Personally I do not think the war was unjust and personally have mixed feelings on what we owe the Iraqi's.

But you anti war people should be more than willing for us to rebuild because you believe we committed a criminal act upon the Iraqi's.

As for Democrat registration, you are seeing that because 1/2 of you do not want a Black man, and 1/2 of you do not want a woman. Dem's true prejudice at work. Come time to vote in general election 1/2 will vote for McCain and other 1/2 will go for the Denomination.

McCain will win by a landslide victory even with more Democrats registered to vote than in past history. I bet McCain wins over 40 states in the general election.

Not saying I agree with what you say, maybe I can see a little of it. But I will say it was about as good of a reply and perspective as I have seen from a strong liberal.
