Why did you let this happen?

Some on here have blamed Canada for "letting" American interests "take over" the Canadian cattle processing industry.

How do those people rationalize what the following link tells us? Who owned the company that was sold in this case?

The acquisition of DTN represents another important step in Telvent's strategy for building a sustainable and secure world.

Telvent is headquartered in Madrid, Spain.

Oooooo..... New World Order.............

JBS S.A. also announced plans to "immediately" complete the purchase of Smithfield Beef Group Inc. for about $565 million in cash. The purchase of the beef-processing and cattle-feeding operations of the Smithfield Group includes Loveland-based Five Rivers Ranch Cattle Feeding LLC, which was previously a joint venture with Continental Grain Co.

JBS is not going to be totally run out of town though. And once in the door, they can expand. And they will. They are apparently going to appeal the decision against the National Beef takeover too.

Hey, maybe they'll learn from some U.S. groups who just go shopping for another court until they get the result they want?

Stopping these big corporations is a lot easier said than done.

It is hard to stop them, but it will sure as hell never happen if you don't try, and we're trying.

I have a steer in the fattening pen that like "trying", too. Good luck.

Did you try to stop the American packers from expanding into foreign countries? You should have been able to see what was coming and been "trying" to stop them before they got out of hand.
