........ that those of us that live in the north complain about snow and cold and don't move south?

An 80 year old Sioux gentleman told me today that only the cowboys and Indians stay here- and these type winters are good because it keeps the riff-raff out....

If I had a choice between the snow and cold--- and big towns with lots of people- the snow and cold wins out everytime....

Those are my sentiments, although most of you live in highly populated areas compared to here.

I like my fellow man better when he is scattered some.

Called a good friend a couple years ago on Christmas Eve . He was in a big cancer hospital in Huston Texas. He said he thanked the Lord every night that there was people to live in cities so he and I didn't have too.

Yes, the fewer people the better for sure. But I seriously can't stand the heat. I really don't mind our weather here, although it would be nice to take a month off winter and tack it onto fall..... my favorite time of year.

I will take this north country any day..........and I can't say we are complaining about the weather...........more like commenting.
also blizzards and storms are a challenge to see how well you can handle the situation.........and a challenge is what makes a lot of things interesting whether its hunting, fishing ,working, riding broncs or chasing wimmen

I remember as a kid growing up in N.E.Texas, we had 41 straight days of 100 degree heat one summer. It was so hot that i wasn't even allowed outside. It was BAD. Not long after that we came to Wyoming to see some distant kin and I made my mind up then where I was going to live. Heat and skeeters aint my idea of a good time. I always get a kick out of the southern folks who come up here to work. As soon as we get that first good snow or cold snap they make it look like the "Great Migration" and head back south. Have a Great New Year everyone.

Living in the Nebraska Sandhills, I have always thought if the coldest week of the winter and the hottest week of the summer could be eliminated, this would be an even more perfect place to live. Then each year would only contain fifty weeks instead of the current fifty-two, but I could still handle that kind of a deal.

That's a good idea Soap, but there is one big drawback to your reasoning. If some of these folks on here were to have a birthday two weeks sooner every year that would make them really old compared to being just plain old. I'm not real sure they would be comfortable making that kind of commitment. I'm just sayin'.........

Then we would just complain about the humidity and the mosquitoes.
and snakes, and gaters and the other folk who moved south at retirement.. (and bugs! ,.. in SC we cleaned out roaches bigger then mouses)..

It is a question I have often thought about.. reasons I haven't left the north-east.. cold and full of liberals.. (and really high taxes)

friends.. family, cost of selling... (yep it is expensive to sell).. and mostly where would we go to?

This is a true statement! LA Gangs would disappear if they had to survive out here in our blizzards! lol
