What about the $75 million?

Oh puhleez! Nice try....

Alice

Taxpayers aren't on the hook for it...what's the problem?

Alice

$75 million -- Estimated cost in a letter to the federal government from the governors of Virginia and Maryland and the mayor of the District of Columbia for transportation and law enforcement. D.C. figures it's share will be $47 million. This number would be addition to the $49 million the federal government is spending.

Somebody has to pay it. Federal taxpayer are picking up $49 million and the state tax payers the rest.

Better read the whole thing Alice. Or are you still in Wonderland?

I will be historic when an Asian-American is elected President

Why, are you asian?

Good catch! (edited to change "I" to "it")

No, just another white mutt Minnesota farmboy of Norwegian, German, Irish, and English ancestry.

But that must make you some racial fixture/name- since in the US a part black man/part white man automatically becomes a black-- or a 1/4 Sioux, 1/2 German, 1/4 Irish 1800's forefather mountain man becomes an Indian or Breed... :???:

I always thought - be interesting to know who snuck into the teepees or the cabins of some of these holier than thou's- or white sheet wearers with their grandma's and grandpas :???:   :p

Husker - that was her tenth strident, negative, the-sky-is-falling post in a row in this thread alone. Frankly, she's made her choice. She's a Canadian. Having her be a cheerleader for the far right, ripping apart the democratically elected leader and finding fault with every detail even before the administration is underway is BS. I am calling her on it.

I was not commenting on the specifics of a single post but on the silliness of some American born turned Canadian BY CHOICE being one of the most vocal, repetitive, and strident of the sky-is-falling crowd. You are still President of the crowd, never worry, but you earn the right although you are aggravating in your repetition, because you are an AMERICAN by choice.

So you don't like what she is saying. How is she wrong?

No, I'm not in Wonderland, as much as you would like to make it appear, altho I've lived with comments like this for about 50 years.

I find Husker a million times more annoying then Tam,she at least brings debate!

I'm able to understand what has been written and stated. You obviously disagree. Your right...just as it's my right to believe what I feel is obvious.

Problem is most bash Reader 2- because she tells it like most of the world (majority of the US) now sees things-- and they can't accept the world that is changing around them.....
I don't like all of the change- but I've realized I can't go back to the 1800's where like I'd loved to grow up in - nor can I go back to the 50's where I did grow up in- nor get back into the preBush days where the US had some power, integrity, and honor....
But like her I can wish that we can again gain some of the power and honor back with a "change" in the last 8 years direction pushed by the neocons....

You talk of debating, Reader, I was hoping you would debate Tam on Obama's choice for Treas. Sec. She raised some valid concerns, it appears you just don't want to acknowledge her points.

Heaven forbid somebody questions the almighty One, especially a foreigner.

I did no such thing. I said it's your right...not you are right.

I simply said that I was tired of messin' with your silly rhetoric...period...end of conversation.

Alice it says in what you posted the 47 mil was in addition to the 49 mil. It all has to be payed and whether it is federal or state paying it is taxpayer money. You proved it then deny. What's up?

The fact that a resident member of your country would even "think" of flying your flag upside down should disgust you, like it does me. Kola called him out you jumped her not him.

when a resident states his displeasure by saying we should fly our flag upside down as a signal of distress.. it is freedom of speech..

when a presidential candidate actually does it it to try to look patriotic it could be considered an insult ..

is either one right or wrong..no, but all in all I wasn't even really offended by Obama's campaigns' misuse of our flag.. It is an image.. and Obama's intent didn't appear to be to drag the flag in the mud, nor did the poster making the comment.

I would have to say I am more offended by Obama and the democrats actual mis-use of the flag, then a posters using the term to make his point.

but if you really want to see me get angry,, then try to drag our countries flag in the mud, or burn our flag.. because short of actual abuse, it is freedom of speech and I feel that is more important then a flag..

Tammy, calm down. I think your the-sky-is-falling is loathsome. No one has the energy to keep up with your deluge of anti-anti-anti threads. If you post a thread that is worth debating, I'll be in there. No one can accuse me of not debating points. Well, you all can, but that's because you're bored and p****d off and think provoking those who voted for Obama will keep you amused.

But I would rather see us support the President and actually wait for the policies to be propose before jumping in and being so strident and Chicken Little-ish.

If you don't know what his policies are, what was your basis for voting for him?

I hope all the idiots of the world know that while it may be freedom of speech to burn the American flag, it is also my duty as a fireman to piss on you in an effort to douse the flames.
