Thank you Alice for admitting I was right. :)

I did no such thing. I said it's your right...not you are right.

I simply said that I was tired of messin' with your silly rhetoric...period...end of conversation.

Alice

Alice it says in what you posted the 47 mil was in addition to the 49 mil. It all has to be payed and whether it is federal or state paying it is taxpayer money. You proved it then deny. What's up?

Re-read it all...or don't...I don't really care. I can't help it if you don't understand...and, I'm done.

So you don't like what she is saying. How is she wrong?

Reader can't prove what I said was wrong that is why she is down off her soap box trying to distract the attention away from what I said.

She knows you're right, otherwise she wouldn't divert.

You're sinning by calling out the Chosen One.

Who was it that said "the closer you get to the truth the worse the name calling gets". I guess I'm getting close.

Was he talking metaphorically or literally? What color is Reader's hair?

I must have not been clear enough in my position,.. "short of abuse of our flag",.. it is freedom of speech.. after an action is taken such as dragging it in the mud or burning the flag. it is no longer just speech..

so if a person says.. "I should fly the flag upside down" .. it is freedom of speech,.. and while I might disagree, I am not overly offended,..

but if they actually do fly it upside down,.. as Obama's campaign did ,.. it is no longer freedom of speech, but misuse

had some one burned a flag.. it's abuse and I would be assisting Jigs in helping put the fire out...

Tammy, calm down. I think your the-sky-is-falling is loathsome. No one has the energy to keep up with your deluge of anti-anti-anti threads. If you post a thread that is worth debating, I'll be in there. No one can accuse me of not debating points. Well, you all can, but that's because you're bored and p****d off and think provoking those who voted for Obama will keep you amused.

But I would rather see us support the President and actually wait for the policies to be propose before jumping in and being so strident and Chicken Little-ish.

You are the one that needs to calm down I asked a simple question about an Obama appointee and you flew off the soap box and attacked me.

Also, that entire amount, $150 million, is not what the taxpayers are being billed.

Here's an estimated breakdown...

$150-170 million -- Estimated cost of entire inauguration activities, from the parades and galas to the port-a-potties and streamers.

$45 million (or more) -- Budget of Presidential Inaugural Committee. The committee is a bipartisan team created in November to organize the inaugural festivities.

All of this money comes from private donations. The committee does not accept money from corporations or lobbyists and individual donors cannot give more than $50,000. (In past inaugurations, contributions could run as high as $250,000.)

The Presidential Inaugural Committee is responsible for Tuesday's inaugural parade, the 10 official inaugural balls and Sunday's concert at the Lincoln Memorial. The committee also paid the Smithsonian $700,000 to stay open longer during the activities.

$49 million -- Total cost of inauguration to the federal government (according to the Office of Management and Budget.) This includes a $15 million appropriation to the District of Columbia to help pay for the inauguration expenses and to pay for Secret Service during the inaugural ceremony and military personnel for the parade following the swearing-in.

$75 million -- Estimated cost in a letter to the federal government from the governors of Virginia and Maryland and the mayor of the District of Columbia for transportation and law enforcement. D.C. figures it's share will be $47 million. This number would be addition to the $49 million the federal government is spending.

Last Tuesday, President Bush declared a state of emergency for the District of Columbia, making more funding available for "emergency protective measures that are undertaken to save lives and protect public health and safety."

$3.5 million -- Construction of platform in front of the Capitol for Tuesday's ceremony and rental of chairs. This comes from the Department of the Architect of the Capitol.

$1.2 million -- Cost of Tuesday's swearing-in ceremony and luncheon. This was budged by the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies.

Alice I brought the whole thing forward so you can show me the error of my ways. it says tota l cost $150 to $170 million.

$45 millions from donations.

$49 million Total cost of the inauguration to federal gov.

$75 million Virgina , Maryland and DC. Who pay this.

$3.5 Department of the Architect of the Capital Fed

$1.2 Joint congressional committee FED.

That comes to $128 million of some taxpayers money and $45 million in donations.

Is that right?

Yet apparently freedom of speech doesn't include Dems using what you call vulgarity but a "POSTER" here says you all should fly your flag upside down, which I find to be vulgar statement to your new president, and THAT freedom of speech is OK...Gotcha Steve!!! Sighhhh

I'm not at all trying to argue with you just pointing out the double standard that hits this room every day. It gets so annoying, and I know,I should have stuck with my first plan....

First I'm not your Honey and now that we all know Sandhusker is the President and I'm the cheerleader of the year. Can we get back to the fact Obama appointed someone that cheated on his taxes to run the IRS. Can you defend his appointment or have we just wasted time on your need to say something again.

He's advised rebellion, and now this.

Where's the backbone here people?

the person who was booted was calling our soldiers derogatory names if I remember right..

I also don't agree with flying our flag upside down..

but I also don't agree with misuse of the image either..

Some viewers contacted 9NEWS Saturday, questioning the design of the credentials to see Sen. Barack Obama accept the Democratic Party's presidential nomination at INVESCO Field .

The viewers say with the stars and blue field in the lower left corner, it is an upside down American flag. Published flag etiquette states the stars should always be displayed in the upper left corner. An upside down flag represents an international symbol of extreme distress.

or flying a terrorists flag or foreign nations' flags either..

So KolanuRaven if flag etiquette is your new pet peeve..maybe Obama should get bounced as well,.

I have not defended his comment..

If it bothers you then debate him over it.. Why attack me over the issue.. I didn't make the comment.. I only responded to Kola's comment about someone getting bounced for ruder comments..

Mrs. Greg
which I find to be vulgar statement to your new president,

as for your belief that it is a vulgarity towards Obama.. I guess I'm more liberal then you are on the freedom of speech and flag issue subject as I didn't see the comment as a big insult.,.. but I wonder.. how can it be ok for Obama's campaign to actually fly it upside down then?

John McCain: La Raza’s voice in Washington
By Michelle Malkin

You want straight talk? McCain’s tongue says he’s “listened and learned.” But his heart is with La Raza, the militantly ethnocentric, anti-immigration enforcement Hispanic lobbying group that honored him in 1999 and whose annual conference he keynoted in 2004.
---------------------------

John McCain and La Raza-The Race share a deep-seated contempt for grass-roots conservatives who worked successfully to defeat the disastrous amnesty bill. And they share a common impulse to marginalize their political opponents as “haters.”

Thus, La Raza-The Race has launched a new “We Can Stop the Hate” campaign–smack dab in the middle of the campaign season–to redefine tough policy criticism from the Right as “hate.” They protest that it is “racist” and out-of-bounds to talk about reconquista–even as the McCain campaign boasts a “Mexico First/”Just A Region”/”Free Flow of People” outreach director who’s practicing it out in the open for the leading GOP presidential front-runner.

Any different than a Presidential candidate being the "voice in Washington" of a subversive group that wants to overthrow parts of the US-- that supports flying the US flag upside down- underneath the Mexican flag :???:

at least there are normal women like you to counter the ignorance that R2 spreads...if all women were like her, we would see a drastic reduction in natural breeding....they would all be lined up at the sperm bank with thier turkey basters and thier "how to survive with out a man" books

R2 is an example of a woman who has lost her way, she is like hillary and Sasquach, they see men run the world, yet think they are as good as men...so they fight for equal rights, yet what they really want is for the rules to be bent so they get an unfair advantage. then they blow about being equal, until some one hammers them like a man, and they retreat with" they did this to a lady?" Hillary did this all through her campaign.
R2 is not fooling me.
