why the silence?

as protest rage against the new dictator , in Egypt.. the press is all but silent..

as war rages in Syria.. there is a little news.. but for the most part the press is silent

but another question looms as Syria mixes up batches of saran gas..
Monitoring of Syrian bases has picked up evidence engineers have loaded the chemicals -- which combine to form the deadly nerve agent sarin -- into bombs that could be dropped from airplanes. Satellites have seen trucks moving among the bunkers where the weapons and agents are believed to be stored. U.S. officials say the evidence is strong, but circumstantial -- not definitive.

sure the press is not saying much and the silence is deafening..

but I have a question.. a nagging sort of question.. but it can wait..

recent internet reports show the Syrians have an active biological weapons program..

The site at Cerin is also associated with an active biological weapons research and production program.
According to NATO Consultant Dr Jill Dekker, Syria has worked on: anthrax, plague, tularemia, botulinium, smallpox, aflotoxin, cholera, ricin and camelpox, and has used Russian help in installing anthrax in missile warheads. She also stated "they view their bio-chemical arsenal as part of a normal weapons program"

add in a robust desire to get nukes.. and we have a rogue nation..

speaking or rogue nations and WMD's

There is still that question.. where did all these biological and chemical stockpiles come from?

The irony here is that the chemical weapons stockpile of Syrian thug Assad may in large part be the legacy of weapons moved from Hussein’s Iraq into Syria before Operation Iraqi Freedom.

oh,.. maybe that is why the press is silent.. they know the truth.. :?

That was the first thing that came to mind when I first heard about this.
We all (those with a mind at all) knew Sudan Hussein sent his MWD's to Syria.

Wouldn't it be great if we had a news media that would vindicate Bush
once and for all?

on the other side of the coin..

“Obama playing up ‘WMD’ threat in Syria is bold and hysterical. Who will go to UN to show ‘evidence’ this time?

Syria’s President Bashar Al-Assad has repeatedly asserted that Syria will not use its chemical weapons arsenal to target rebel fighters, never mind the civilian population. To do so would be an act of geopolitical suicide given that Obama and Hillary Clinton have made it clear this is a “red line” that will mandate US military intervention.

care to bet how long a credible news organization will say..

but "AL-Assad said he won't use chemical weapons.. so he must have them," ?

Indeed, the only evidence that suggests chemical weapons may be in preparation for use in Syria comes from a video which apparently shows US-backed Syrian rebels testing chemical weapons on rabbits in a lab while bragging about how they will deploy them to kill pro-Assad Allawites.

Fabricated lies about weapons of mass destruction were cited as the primary reason for invading Iraq, a justification that was proven to be completely fraudulent. It’s astounding that the US military-industrial complex and the establishment media are once again resorting to the same infantile propaganda in an attempt to grease the skids for military intervention in Syria, which just like Iraq has been planned well in advance.

now for the biggie.. will OT and the liberals follow the Obama WMD crowd to Syria?..

no it won't happen.. like other liberals they will twist in the wind and make the most outlandish claims before admitting they were wrong..

then there is this gem..

But does Syria have these weapons?
In August, a spokesman for the Syrian Foreign Minister, Jihad al-Maqdisi, announced that Syria not only possesses chemical weapons, but is prepared to use them if necessary. In the wake of international condemnation, al-Maqdisi retracted the statement and a few days later even denied that Syria has chemical weapons. Last week, Al-Maqdisi defected.

since when has a president relied on the word of a dictator and a defector..

surely Obama would be smarter then that after the Bush Iraq WMD disaster..
wouldn't the Obama administration listen to the actual experts.. other then those at the NYTimes.. and the words of a dictator and a defector..

like this one?

In an exclusive interview with RNW, Naser Abu Dan, a chemical weapons expert familiar with his country’s biological warfare programme, stated that Syria no longer possesses these arms. But he added that in the past, the Syrian regime had attempted without success to obtain the technology needed to produce these weapons.

so when no evidence is found, I am sure the liberals will not resort to red lines and treats to get US involved..
US President Barak Obama has issued a strongly worded statement, warning the Syrian authorities against the use of chemical weapons . The warning follows the publication of intelligence reports by the New York Times claiming that President Assad would deploy such weapons if fighting reached the centre of the Syrian capital.

so much for learning from history.. :?

so either they know the Syrians received WMD's from Iraq.. or they are listening to a dictator and a defector..

I bet they soon use this defector as the credible rationalization for entering the conflict or escalating our help to the rebels/terrorists ..

Say what?! Not only is shrub a dope--he's also a draft dodging coward--y'know kinda like Rumsfield and Clinton. Daddy got him into the air guard or something---a fact he was able to prove by dental records---this is the horses ass who delayed returning troops so he could land (backseat) on an aircraft carrier--heap big MISSION ACCOMPLISHED and all.

Blissfully unaware that the greatest military force the world has ever known's accomplishment of hammering a 3rd world country run by another idiot, ain't really all that impressive. Also blissfully unaware that the "mission" was just getting (or should have been) started. Or left entirely alone.

Another neat war, started by clueless cowards who never have and never will fight---our kids do that---and financed by money stolen from our kids and borrowed from the chinese.
