Reminds me of a rooster or two I've come across in my lifetime! Too funny!
That is funny. I wasn't much older than that when my grandma told me to go shoot the old mean rooster. With .22 in hand like a little man that I was, the rooster chased me alway around the house and back in the door I came out of. :lol2:

We had a rooster that my wife had to have a body guard around here when she went outsidel. He left me alone but he would come flying at her.. Kept him around for 2-3 years because the lab used to just run at him and he would take off and he was very good to his hens and prevented them from being beat up by any other rooster.. He was an ugly cur though.. One day I found him out in the pasture, about a quarter mile away from his home hunkered under a hay feeder wagon half frozen to death. Don't know how he got out there (Guessing he might have hitched a ride when I checked calvs the night before).. he never recovered and we never really replaced him either or the chickn flock. I think one spring, since my wife let 30 eggs hatch or something like that we had 50 hens laying... I can't even remember what we didwith all those eggs besides give them away in town to some of the more needy folks and some wouldn't even take them since they were brown.
