Wicked weather

I think we're in for it tonight from here in Harrison Ar. to North Central Missouri. Some of the Springfield Mo weather stations are saying baseball size hail is not only possible but probable..with up to softball size in some isolated areas. Not good. I'd say a softball size hail stone would put a dent in the ol' noggin. I'll believe it when I see it. Softball size seems impossible. I'm getting the info second handed so we'll see. Tough weather either way.

...MODERATE TO STRONG INSTABILITY IS EXPECTED
WITHIN THE INITIAL MID LEVEL DRY SLOT WHERE MLCAPE VALUES SHOULD
REACH 1500-2000 J/KG. THE FORECAST ORIENTATION OF THE MID-UPPER
FLOW RELATIVE TO THE INITIATING SURFACE BOUNDARIES...ALONG WITH THE
STRONG FORCING WITH THE APPROACHING WAVE...SUGGEST THE POSSIBILITY
OF MIXED MODE CONVECTION WITH BOTH SUPERCELLS AND BOWING LINE
SEGMENTS ACROSS KS/NEB. AFTERNOON TEMPERATURE- DEWPOINT SPREADS MAY
BE MARGINALLY LARGE FOR SIGNIFICANT TORNADOES...THOUGH FORECAST
HODOGRAPHS STILL APPEAR SUPPORTIVE OF TORNADOES. OTHERWISE...LARGE
HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS WILL BE LIKELY WITH THESE STORMS. FARTHER S
AND LATER THIS AFTERNOON/EVENING...PROFILES APPEAR SUPPORTIVE OF
DISCRETE SUPERCELLS ACROSS ERN OK/AR/SRN MO INTO EARLY TONIGHT.
TORNADOES WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THESE STORMS...A FEW OF WHICH COULD
BE STRONG...GIVEN AN INCREASE IN LOW-LEVEL SHEAR THIS EVENING AND A
MORE MOIST ENVIRONMENT COMPARED TO AREAS FARTHER W AND N.

edit: latest
THESE
STORMS WILL TEND TO REMAIN AS DISCRETE SUPERCELL STORMS AS THEY MOVE
INTO SOUTHWEST MISSOURI AND NORTHERN/WESTERN PARTS OF ARKANSAS
DURING THE EVENING. STRONG TORNADOES WILL BE POSSIBLE ALONG WITH
VERY LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WIND GUSTS. THE SEVERE THREAT WILL
LIKELY PERSIST OVERNIGHT INTO THE MID-MISSISSIPPI VALLEY AND
MID-SOUTH.

THIS IS POTENTIALLY A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THOSE IN THE
THREATENED AREA ARE URGED TO REVIEW SEVERE WEATHER SAFETY RULES AND
TO LISTEN TO RADIO...TELEVISION...AND NOAA WEATHER RADIO FOR
POSSIBLE WATCHES...WARNINGS...AND STATEMENTS LATER TODAY.

Yu better get your baseball bat out and gety some practice!

I hope you don't need it. Hail ain't a good thing, tho' in this country when we get hail, we usually get all the dams and waterholes filled. Sure isn't the best way to get it done, but you takes what you gets in this country.

Most of the storm looked to be in Ks and Ne and on into northwestern Mo. Some tough cells up that way.
