the mayor of boze-angeles, montana was charged (and arrested!!) for domestic violence after he assaulted his wife....she later tried to drop the charges, saying that "this is a personal matter and he usually does not lose control this way".....the initial report made to the police stated that the "man" punched, choked and kicked his wife while the neighbors called police!!
I, personally, have no respect WHATSOEVER for people who beat on others....whether they be man or woman!! Having been on the wrong end of an angry man's fists, myself, I know the feeling ot terror and helplessness that engulfs you!! However, my "being the victim" only lasted 7 years before I woke up and realized what it was doing to 2 beautiful, innocent children who were starting to realize that "something" was wrong!!

The question shouldn't be, Will he loose his job? It should be "Will he actually do jail time?" Mr Lilly has said , I don't know how many times, the guys in prison that are there because they beat their wife/gf or kids do NOT have an easy time there.

Most states are getting tougher on domestic violence crimes, just like many other crimes. However, jail time is not always a mandatory for a person -- depends on many many factors.

But will he NOT do jail time just because of his profession? (or should I say his prior profession). I personally think he'll serve some type of jail just because the law is a self policing profession and the Judge is gonna want to make a statement...if he doesn't serve jail time, then he'll be like many others in the same situation that didn't serve jail time. But with his profession, he'll be disciplined by the Bar Board and could lose his professional license forever....

I have no sympathy or room for domestic violence -- it seems that it's too easily tolerated any more and people turn a cheek when they see it, too scared to get involved -- and that boils my blood when it's children who are the victims.

Well that might be true :(
But I do know of certain divorce cases in which people are falsely accused of things.
