Winter cow feed production.

Finally got started on the winter feed program. October can be the start of winter or a good harvest month. Let's hope for a good harvest month. :!: For the pure rancher ignore the following thread as it involves machinery. Many thanks to my wife for being the operator half of the time relieving my Dad who likes the job but not so much that he wants to do it all the time.

I get my turn once in a while but they complain that I drive crooked. :shock: It is hard to pay attention and take pictures. :?

Chaff and straw on an automatic dump unit. Used to use a foster buncher and made them big but these are easier to deal with in the spring. This one is a Jones buncher and could work on any combine. The cheapest way to winter cows we have found. We have a track record of using bunches behind a combine since our first combine. I suppose the idea came from the thrasher piles that were also used to winter cows. Now if we could only get barley up to 5 or 6 bucks. :)
