I was listening to WNAX radio station today and I beleive I heard Soapweed. He had just won a key to try to start a new pickup. I thought it was him and then when he told about his wife doing all the work I knew it was  Good luck! That salebarn is a lucky spot for the winning key.

I took some preg-checked open heifers to the Martin sale today. The folks from WNAX Radio Station were there with their annual new pickup promotion. Everyone that went through the salebarn doors was eligible to sign up for the drawing. Later on, they brought the box with the names in to the ring-side bleachers and a small boy drew out one name. It happened to be mine. The "rest of the story" is that now I can go to eastern South Dakota after the first of the year when they have the actual drawing for the pickup. I have a "one in 57" chance of getting the right key that will open the doors to the new pickup. A lady that signed up at Martin last year won the last pickup to be given away. Statistically speaking, having two winners back-to-back from the same town is probably highly unlikely. Oh well, I might go and I might not. Having to speak live on the radio today was a spooky experience, but this is the Halloween spooky season.

I am waiting for his picture on the cover of the Rollin' Stone. As far as odds go those aren't bad, might be worth showing up. I am sure Peach could use a new pick-up.

That is false. This is an independent event. The outcome of a prior event has no bearing on the outcome of this event. Bottom line: it is a 1 in 57 chance. The dice have no memory. College statistics comes in handy sometimes.

I shouldn't have said "statistically speaking," instead I should have said "realistically speaking." :)

hope you win. I hope the truck is purple, and I hope you will let me put a KSU tag on it, so Sandhusker has to see it occasionally

Soooo, on what are you basing your "realistically speaking"? How does that differ from "statistically speaking"?

What you are being told is that you better show up at the "draw"!!!!!

I sat next to Erin Tiez at the sale barn and we had a good visit. She is one of the on air personalities at the radio station. She didn't know me from Adam but after you listen to someone on the radio long enough you feel like you know them. I hope she didn't think I was some stalker. Anyway Soap, if you don't go for the drawing, let me know, I'll gladly take your key.

Erin caught me and had me to a quick interview at Mobridge Livestock last Thursday. I wasn't lucky enough to get a key though. She sure seems like a nice gal.
