According to our Conservation Officers wolves have become so plentiful in Wisconson that they have been cited in Norhtern third of Illinois. A pair has been sighted 5mi. north of Ottawa in LaSalle county. Haven't heard of any damage to cattle though.

No cattle damage yet in Illinois. One was shot near Henry Illinois (About 20 miles south of where I am) near the Illinois River and one was seen in Henry County much closer. The killed one was linked to the Minnisota pack. The hunter shot what he thought was the biggest darn coyote he had ever seen. I am in Bureau county which is jsut to the west of LaSalle county.

now, there was a cougar killed in New Boston, Illinois in November or December of 2004. I have a friend near there and there were several reports of missing sheep leading up to the discovery of the cat. Leading up to this though there were reports of two cats spotted. Fun.... Not really. If you talk o the hunters there are lots of game cam pictures of the cats all over Illinois. Probably nothing in major numbers but they are hear. The nice thing about cats is that they can all be treated as "vermin" in this state as the IL DNR refuses to acknowledge their existance inside the state. All ones found are just excaped pets according to the DNR.

Guess we southerners are the only ones with wolf predations, huh? I'm glad for everyone who's not having problems, maybe we should move to where ya'll are? :cboy:
