Visiting with a neighbor last night. His son works on an outfit North of Limon Colorado. A rough area with lots of canyons. He had found a steer carcass strewn all around didn't know what had killed it. When he got the foreman who had been there 18 years, he recognized it as the work of wolves. They called fish & feathers, who promptly gathered up the carcass(broken hind legs & all) and told them it couldn't have been wolves, cause we don't have any, then they left. These fellas saw the wolves later. A pair, one was of the up to the handle bars on his four wheeler and black in color. They are short lots of calves and a cow in other pastures.

We have 1 wild cow/calf pair running in a Brushy Pasture yesterday we kicked a timberwolf up.It was tough getting the dogs to quit chaseing it.Never did get the cow she's a bit wild.We lost one cow there this summer but I think it was lightning but the coyotes and or wolves ate it.

Well....since they ' don't exist'.....I'd ' take care' of the non-existant problem if I were them.
Reckon a feller could shoot them and just tell the fish & feathers that They wern't wolves, because wolves don't live here.

Well if they don't even exist the fish & feathers people will wonder why you're telling them you killed something that did not exist in the first place.

Why...they'd think you were looney!

Sounds like the same run-around the folks down here are getting, too.......

Ya know.........wolves only kill to eat...........they only kill wild game...........I swear, I would like to take every dadgum wolf they've put out down here, and pen them up in "someone's" back yard...........let them "deal" for a while...........

Condolences to your buddy, though. Wolf depradation is a rough way for any critter to have to die......they are wicked!

If you have two now, how many will you have next year. How many calves will they take to raise the pups. I think youneed to start shooing now while you can still get it under control.
