Sounds like a good deal as long as you treat it as a dirt bike and not a toy!

Now would I do that?? lol. Dont worry-if I get caught goofing off with it i get the keys taken away. lol. That and Im a little weary of two wheels instead of four so I dont thinkl I giot the guts to. lol.

Mom said that too, and she also said if you fall out of that tree im not taking you to the hospital, and guess who took me to the hospital 5 minutes later?? lol

lol. Like I said, im a little wary of them yet. lol. Dad and his brother got one when they were my age-funny stories. lol. I had a 50cc when I was little but 175 is pretty big... and loud. lol. Im gonna have to puck up the chicks with my soon to be bike now. lol.

have a good one

Here is a story for you ACS. When I was 16, on the 4th of July, I had a wreck coming off of a saddle bronc. Had to go to a regional hospital to have a specialist move the tip of my right humerous bone back into the place it was originally in and pin it. I spent the rest of the summer, all of the fall with pins, physical therapy, no football. Thought I had it hard, after the original surgery, I was in a room with two other kids my age. They were riding double on a dirt bike and slid it on it's side down a gravel road. Those two boys cried and moaned the whole time I was in there, they had very little skin left from skidding down the road, they hurt. I have no use for dirt bikes after watching them suffer from their own stupidity, they had more and more operations to look forward to. I decided that animals and rodeo were a whole lot safer. Get my drift? I will never forget their pain, mine was nothing. YOU BETTER BE CAREFUL

I know its a one person machine, and even if I wanted to, I couldnt fit another person on there with me. lol. I appreciate your concern, and this isnt a toy-grandpa thinks that anyone but him driving his quad is abusing it, so Im loooking at this. Its not goign on the road either-mostly pasture and a little on the summerfallow or the garden-when I was little I hit the gravel on the 50cc and i cried. It stang so now i dont even bike on it. lol.

Take care and have a good one

They don't belong in a pasture either-phone my buddy Terry Bale at Oyen-he can tell you how a little ten minute ride before supper on his bike to check cows ruined his quality of life forever. You want to wear a cowboy hat sunshine get yourself a horse lol.

I agree with NR, get him to find you a good ole horse and you can go round the countryside picking up chicks and you wont even burn any gas!!!!!!

lol. I dunno-try and talk dad into getting em a horse instead of a bike-Ill try and get him onto my yahoo for ya NR. You can try again. lol.

Thanks, and have a good one

Angus Shower, a 175 Yamaha is a lot of bike. Its as safe as you make it.

Don't herd cattle on a bike. I was in the hospital getting a tonsilectomy and met 2 kids your age all broken up from herding cattle on dirt bikes.
I have another friend that ran through a wire fence - barely lived.

My dad sez the tragedy of youth is you can't pass wisdom from one generation to another. I hope you can listen to us oldsters and stay pretty safe and alot lucky.

The figures you posted are cheap enough for a yz175 so you can afford a nice helmet. I know you have a lil bro and sis that will want to share, and I also know you're a real good kid that will try to accomodate them. Only give lil bro and sis safe weenie rides.

I've used dirt bikes for years, had one since I was about 6.

The only hurt I suffered was when I switched back to a smaller bike from a larger one, dropped the front tire in a hole that the bigger bike would have just skimmed over. It was prairie sod, skinned my face and I didn't know who I was for a day or so.

Dad has ridden since he was 20 or so... he is 66 now, and still rides a small one.

It's all in how you use them. You never see a well trained horseman gallopping down a steep hill, same idea with bikes...just because they can do something doesn't mean they should.

The other two have a small bike-a 50cc hammer. lol. I have a winter/quad helmet, would it work ro should get a motocross bike helmet? They wont be touching it-Me and Dad will have it under lock and key the whole time.

The only injury was when I fell of on the gravel-ti stang.

Use it-dont abuse it or Dad'll confiscatre it. lol.

Yup Bikes are dangerous. Just ask Roland about that one.... Did a power slide through a fence opening, fractured his pelvis. Ride with a jaw protector on your helmet saves the pretty face for the ladies LOL.... I road like lunatic for years and never dropped one. Unfortunately I am paying the price now my knees are trashed from the bumping and banging. I went through a "bullet proof" faze. Only the good Lord knows why I am still around! I think all of the posters are correct just use caution. But a horse is definately the better way to run cattle. Bikes stress them to much making your day much longer and more unpleasant. Maybe you could talk your dad into an ultralight :)

lol. So get a motocross helmet, right? lol

We chase with a quad,a nd a truck, with usually me walking and chasing the stragglers (wahahahahahaha-only 2 more years till I get my license so I can drive adn the briother can walk. wahahaha. lol. )

Whats an ultralight??!! lol

Ultralites are little tiny airplanes. Usually you build them in your garage. Sooo much fun. They are light weight so no flying in heavy wind but what a hoot! Really quiet ! They make you walk huh. Sounds like child slave labor to me. LOL!!!!
