I jut got back from the clinic, and the hospital. I had to go in for XRays. All I learned is that the doctors poke too much and I have a cracked rib.

What is everyone's most painful injury?

I don't get hurt to much.. Not from lack of trying but I think most of my big accidents I ended up bouncing instead of breaking.. I turned an ankle once real bad however in college... Finished the game I was playing (don't know ho, and spent the night with my foot in the waste paper basket filled with ice.. Went to the school clinic the next day and they told me I probably tor something but would have to do an MRI or something and than suggestd I cast it... Or, I could tap it up and get on with life and use a crutch... I think I tapped it, wraped it, put on some lace up boots and went on my way cursing under my breath (not at the doctors but at the ouch).. I think I was fine after 2 weeks, remember the first time trying to ru on it again about 5 weeks later.. Must not of had any real damage done to it but iwas a wonderfull color.. Besides that, most of my injuris have been of the over use variety.. Tendonities type crap.. To this day I have been lucky enough to never have been put in cast.. Might have dislocated a finger or two but no plaster yet.

i can't imagine why but iv'e never been hurt to bad in all the wrecks iv'e been in
but i did break the navicular "SP" bone in my right foot and had to have a cast in october in pindale wyoming with 3 days of shipping left
it's funny to me so i'll tell the story
we were catching some big steers that jumped the fence when we were penning them
there pasture mates weighed 910 lbs when we got them on the scales
"eastern cattle comany cattle"
well we had roped and tied a bunch of them and it was getting dark when we ran across 2 more
our horses were tierd and mine was a big roan horse that was kind of a runaway anyhow

well i built to this one and just about the time i stood up to lace him he turned and came right back down the side of my horse and his head hit my right stirrup and i put a spur track on my right shoulder "did not think i was that flexible even back then"
well the guy behind me roped him and i heeled him
then off to the next one i got him roped around the neck and my partner heeled him by a leg
so i got down "more like fell off my horse" and tailed him down and tied him
it was dark by now and the boss said awe we'll come back in the morning and load them
well i was hobbling around the next morning as i was saddling my horse so bad that the boss told me to stay around camp and we would see about that foot in the afternoon
well they made me go to the doctor and i got a cast
my toes were sticking out the end and it was cold
well i got me some oversized wool socks and a size 11 over shoe and went back to work
ya'll should have seen it
i was a grand sight i had to let my right stirrup out about 5 inches and i looked like festus rising with a stiff leg
the up side to all this was i got to stay ahorseback for the remainder of the shipping and bring the cattle to the scales in the pens
sorry so long just rambling i geuss
until later

Bad ATV wreck way back around my 28th birthday. Had to have surgery X2 on my left foot, lower leg, and ankle, really bad rock bruises on my back, and a split liver.

MOst painful injury?

Just living and getting old! Because I am now feeling the results of all the stupid things I've done in my 51 years.

Shoulders ache from logging wear and tear, knees giving out from work and sports and worst of all, more brain cramps than any human should have to endure.

No, I don't wish I were 18 again.

Kidlit...I think you need to start counting how many times you've been injured lately, figuring out in all the injurys the common denominator...and quit being so lax in your safety, must be driving your dad crazy :?

I've never{cross fingers}had a serious injury,Greg thats another story,also lax in his safety

My bronken ribs hurt most at the time, but my broken shoulder has given me more trouble than almost any other injury......it's been 18 1/2 years, and it's hurtin like heck right now. Tore the ligaments in my right ankle going for a layup in high school, and still sprain it regularly......just didn't heal up right, I reckon.

Take care of you, ACS.....you're much too young to be so scuffed up all the time! :p

I think when I broke a bunch of ribs over in Lewistown Idaho was the most painful- because you had to keep breathing, and you felt it every breath....

The most painful to get set was a broken nose when I kissed a bull- was in upperstate NY- and this German doctor could hardly speak English- and when he ran those rods and probes up my nose and started moving all those bones and gristle around readjusting it, I just knew in my mind he was a Gestapo escapee out of a Concentration camp......

. . . and to think that he was more gentle with you than many of us would be, given the chance . . .

Say, would having your nose out of joint maybe be an explanation for your bitter approach to life?

Well within the last month and some, here is my list of injuries. lol.

Cracked rib
Concussion
one hand tore up from falling out of the tractor and grabbing onto a piece of metal sticking up and cut my whole left hand up
burnt myself when I was welding
Cut myself when I was working on the Air Drill
twisted my ankle when I hopped out of the tractor
and lots of other little cuts that dont count.

30 days in a month
7 injuries
1 injury every 4.2 days

I'm not too bad, see, I have 3.2 out of four days that I am safe, then I forget I got hurt. lol.

When you get old, you will be reminded of every one of your injuries. If you live long enough to get old, at the rate you are going!

I have to agree with MLA. I'm almost 51 and I feel every fall I've taken in my life in my bones now :( Can't run as fast :( can't move as quick :( Getting old is the pits and I think that hurts me the most. I simply can't do what I used to do

The hardest is the pain in my heart. Lost our Corky Corgi dog, he was the best doggie we've ever had. Our new one helps some. I think we will start raising them so I don't get so attached to only one.

ACS, you had better start paying attention to what you're doing, next time you'll end up hurt badly or end up getting killed. You kids think you are invincible....I think NOT. A friend of ours lost her son in a tragic rollover in January.

Oh, BTW, are you fishing for sympathy

Heck Hanta I am ALMOST 32 and I feel the injuries that I suffered in my youth from time to time... The small ache where I dislocate a finger playing baseball, the knee that I had to rehab in highschool still being stiff sometimes and lets not even talk about the rest of the stuff.. I do still remember the day I felt a litttle old for the first time was hoping off the top step of the tractor and when I hit the ground I felt the impact from my shins, through my knees and up to my hips.... It happened so fast, lol.. I used to hang drop off second story roofs and stuff and now this...

Sorry to hear about Corky.. I had seen you post that you had gotten a new pup.. Hope he can grow into a worthy successor..
