Beautiful day, today!

Today we injected our heifers with Lutalyse, they were on MGA earlier. We also gave them their new "cow" numbers on pretty blue ear tags. We should have a very, busy weekend!!!!

Oh, BTW, I wanted to take pics of sw, but he kept me pretty busy :)

Maybe next time........

Nice pics. Thanks for sharing. I guess some jobs don't have regional differences. Ear tagging is lady's work around here, too. I guess if you want it done right......

Soapweed - Pearson is clear up into Canada. 8) I think Hanta must have made the tags also - to neat to be done by "most" men. :p I even see traces of bribe material on the ground beside Corky!

The only thing different is the backdrop. We sure could have used Hanta's hills and pine to cut the wind we've been having. Thanks again Hanta

Nice shots...I'm sure those heifers will luv their new "ear jewelery"...what girl doesn't like a new piece of jewlery???

that blue sky just serves as a reminder that not all sunny days are WARM days.....especially for those of us up north!! Cowboyup and boys are moving the cows in to the corrals this morning and gonna be preg-testing tomorrow! Have half the county coming to help....sure wish you and sw could be here.....now THAT would be fun!!! :D :D

Around here in the winter the sunny days are often the coldest... NOthing much colder than when the snow covers the ground all around here and we have clear days and nights... BRRRRRR.. Of course, we don't get to see the sun all that much in the winter anyways... Just a hazy shade of grey all winter long.

Ohhh, she's not too lonely, we're about 10% red. She has about 3 other buddies in that group. We don't mind sire testing red Gelbviehs, I think the herd looks awesome with solid reds and blacks.

BTW, since we are now heat detecting, every time we go through them, I make sure my coat pockets are packed with cake

I sure am making all kinds of friends! Will probably post a pick or two of me being mobbed by a bunch of yearlings

Doing it this way, when they calve, they will remember us with such *pleasant* thoughts.

I'll bet tomorrow, when we have to pull off the hots, all I have to do is walk to where I want them to be and they will follow...just like the Pied (sp?) Piper

I think they look awesome as well. They are a very nice set. If the hot heifers follow you into the chute from feeding them cake, you better send my your feed mans name. It's hard to get the attention of a buller. You have too much hair to be the pied piper. Doesn't pied mean bald? I can't remember for sure.
Edit: since you still have red with your blacks , your herd would be considered pied.

def. having patches of two or more colors, as various birds and other animals: a pied horse.
