Maybe OT or Ben H can help out on this one. Would Obama's past affiliations, friends, documents, etc. restrict him from passing the background checks required by the Military Officers or Police Officers?

According to my son, who was in charge of the reactor on a Nuclear Sub, Zer0 would not qualify for clearance on that job.

I remember when the FBI came to my house on two different occasions and questioned me on his past, they told me they had tracked down some of his old school mates to inquire on any past drug use.

ANY kind of drugs was a definite disqualifier for that position.

The FBI dropped experimental use of drugs as a disqualifier for employment as an Agent back in the late 70's-- because they were losing too many quality folks that while in college had smoked a joint or experimented with some type of drugs- as long as you admitted to it during the application...
If you lied about it- and then they found it- or you failed on a polygraph- you were ineligible for hire....

Incorrect Mike.

No, that is not incorrect. When he went into the nuclear program he was told that he could have no past drug use whatsoever, except for necessary prescriptions. Then it had to be verified.

I talked with the investigators about it myself...............

You do know that there are several different levels of security clearance?

I would think the Pres should be given the highest clearance......

Even being married to a foreign national does not disqualify you- as my sister is married to a great guy who until 2 years ago had foreign citizenship- and while she was married to him she was the Asst. Agent in Charge of a Divison Security Unit (counter-terrorism)....
