when dad heard about the anthrax and there is a chance ou r place might be quarantined... This was the first time i have ever seen him actually cry. All we have home is the feeders, my cattle, sheldons, and the cattle that dad has atttchements-his first animals. he started 20 years ago, but the vaccine isnt coming till monday, and were taking dad to the lake... hope it helps, but please member to keep him in your prayers.

:( Man Angus thats tough,tell your dad chins up.The anthrax thing is wierd,greg says he remembers years ago when it was in our area,apparently it gets in the soil and sits until perfect breeding conditon.

Some don't realize how hard these things are on people,esp. the Canadians last few years...BSE,Drought and now anthrax :cry:

With the already deflated cattle prices, we shipped a load last week, and for 9 head we got back under 6000. not good. Thanks, ill tell him that... I think he has to get his mind off of it for a while... Thank you mr. Molson. lol.

You can treat Anthrax nowdays with Tetradure. Instead of going away to the lake I would stay home and check on my cattle a few times each day.

Great advice...and there is a cheaper antibiotics that is very effective too...LA 200.

Aw, that's too bad. Have fun at the Lake, and hope it does the trick for your dad!

We got a call from the pasture last noght... we had to go there and vaccinate all the animals there... again. Good news is that the calves look good this year.

Bullhauler and TTB-
(I shjould have mentiopned that the hired hand was staying in the yard and checking them once every few hours... diddnt loose any!
