Hubby and I went into the city yesterday afternoon to get a few things, came out of the 2nd to last stop and theres 3 messages on the cell phone. The guy that works with Jay had roped a heifer and his horse came over backwards on him and broke his leg. He had surgery today, which took about 6 hrs, it was broken in 4 places, he's got a 8 inch plate holding it all together now. We're about a 1/3 done calving, Jay was supposed to head back East to help his Mom with some legal stuff next week, luckily we hadn't booked his ticket yet, so looks like I'll be going instead. Some days are sure better than others!!

loader tractor with no cab unloading off a semi?

Double stacked unstraping. They were both on the ground the way I heard it.I did'nt ask any question's as our family has been thru a bad car wreck and a murder about 10 and 15 years ago so I've learned a hug is worth alot more than hearing I'm sorry a 1000 times.

Things happen so quick. It really makes you sit back and appreciate life when you know how precious it is. Being a trucker's daughter, and sister, I know all to well how dangerous a profession it is. As is working with livestock.

Their families are in our thoughts, and we hope they get lots of those hugs.

Denny, sorry about your friends. Your story reminds me about my brother-in-law who's a trucker. He took a short haul of gates and panels to a town in Alberta, and while he was unstrapping the load, the guy unloading him went ahead to take off part of the load, and in doing so proceeded to push the whole load off the side of the trailer and flattened my brother-in-law to the ground. He was in the hospital for over a month, and then physical therapy and walking with canes for another four months. He's lucky to be alive. He's back trucking but he still has some pretty bad days with his back.
