Feeders getting some better returns, maybe almost enough to justify $2.00 calves plus $6.00 corn? Maybe?

U.S. TRADE (U.S. funds)

U.S. cash cattle trade virtually exploded this morning with active trade in all areas and stronger prices. Business
in the north got started first with prices another $5.00-$6.00 higher than last week at $200.00 dressed, with a
few reported as high as $202.00 dressed. The south was also $5.00-$6.00 higher with sales reported from
$124.00-$125.50 live. Some clean up trade is possible tomorrow but for the most part it looks like business for
this week has been completed.

I was at BLE in Burlington, CO yesterday to sell some open heifers. They sold lighter than expected at $122.50 cwt, but feeder calves were right on cue bringing from $140 to $150 cwt in most cases on the mid to larger sized drafts.
