Since nobody seems to want to be a liberal and everyone wants to be conservative here's my question how many of you view yourselves as open minded individuals? You are more then welcome to start a closed mind list too.

Join the list.

Some folks are so open minded that their brains fall out.

I admire free thinkers. Can you tell that Harriet Beecher Stowe was an ancestor of mine? She also opposed the status quo and looks like a hero today but think what people thought of her then.

Being a free thinker and open minded does not mean having no moral compass, no religious foundation. In fact some of the most tolerant and good people are that way, on the basis of deep religious belief.

I too admire free thinkers. And I would guess I would oppose the status quo. I feel I have a moral compass that comes from my religious foundation. I feel I am tolerent, until someone wants to commit attrocities, and that, I can not tolerate. As for being a good person.........the jury is still out.

I think you're 100% correct.

I think you are too. I always admire those that can pull it off.
It's a constant struggle for me.

I must justify all this education somehow....so being a free thinker is my way!!

Why not look at all angles and persepctives of any ANY situation? I like to know the " why's & how-comes" of situations...the cause and effect/affect.

Maybe I was just raised to be too curious about things.....I want to know why they work and their purpose...not just believe what the last guy said.

Maybe I'm wrong..in many of your eyes I am....that's OK....I'm happy in my own skin and that's all that matters!!!

I have a close family friend in MT. He has a 10 yr son . He will not allow this child to speak to, deal with or associate ANYONE that is not the following:

1. White
2. Rancher
3.Western raised
4. Christian

Anyone not fitting the aboue 4 catagories is said to be ' below' him and not worthy of association.

Already, when I visit I see this kid becoming so racist and narrow minded it's scary. He's missing out on sooooo many good people in his "way too small" world already.

I can't blame the kid....but I sure want to stomp a hole in the Daddy's a$$ for depriving his son of life experiences because the world is getting smaller every day.....it's bigger than " Po Dunk" MT that only has 600 people in it!!!

Sometimes some people on here are, especially on this thread. Just wondering.

I asked about your stance on abortion, as I wasn't sure and you gave someone a fairly good chewing on, because they assumed something about you. I didn''t want to assume anything about you, so I asked. You seem to think your views on some issues are coming across loud and clear, but evidentley they are not, to me anyway. So that is why I asked.
Thanks for your reply.

Actually, if you'll recall, I gave a good chewing because they attacked me for their mistaken assumption.
Assuming is one thing.
Assuming and then jumping all over me and getting your buddies to do the same is something else entirely.
