We received more rain...another inch last night. That makes four inches since Monday!!!!

That is more than twice the amount of rain we received last year. I'd sure like to get some gardening done, but will gladly take the delay if it's because of the rain.

It's pretty crisp and brisk this morning 36 degrees, with about 40 mph winds.

Thank you Lord, and Mother Nature!

I hope others who need rain...Nicky, the Southeasters, and everyone else, get rain too.

Cheers---

TTB

Glad you got that rain TTB...I was trying to get it over to you guys...They're predicting dry and 70's-80's here for Sat and Sun- and maybe by Sunday night it will be dry enough I can get some hay into the feeders in the bull pen and the fat pen...For now I have to pitch it- or just drop a bale over the fence and let them have at it...

Sounds like another wet front could start moving in Sunday night (Judith is sending it)-- and I'll try to send you folks east and south of us more of it....

Just came in from lookin at our rain guage... Only a half inch so far but we have been knocked off line a few times from down pours and it looks as if we have another couple hours of the stuff coming this way.. heck if we could get 2 inches in the next 5 days I would be plumb tickled.. 4 inches I might just dance a jig..

Well... still going and we are at an inch now.. And looks as if the system is expaning.. At this rate we might get another inch or, it could all disappear in a moment... Forcasteded for good rain through the 30th of May right now.. I sure hope I don't hear any whining on the local TV staton about this happing on memorial day weekend... Always irritates me.. We might catch up on our deficiet hear all in one weekend if it works out right.. Not the best way to get rain but better than the alternative if no rain.

I was looking at the local weather bureau website and found this:

MONTH TO DATE IT HAS BEEN THE WETTEST MAY SINCE 1903. THE ALL-TIME WETTEST MAY ON RECORD OCCURRED BACK IN 1906 WHEN A TOTAL OF 5.69 INCHES OF RAIN FELL. THIS IS THE WETTEST START TO THE YEAR SINCE 1954.

Don't remember too much about 54, except that most the early moisture came in snow and we had a "100 year" flood- but do remember there were some good grass and crop years back in the 50's....

Maybe this truly is the "next year" we keep waiting for....

Got a little cool last night- 28 degrees- which is slowing down some of the growth...
