Obama Still Not Scheduled to Visit West, Texas
by KEITH KOFFLER on APRIL 22, 2013, 8:34 AM
President Obama is still not scheduled to visit the devastated community of West, Texas, where an explosion at a fertilizer plant five days ago killed 14 – including 11 emergency responders – and wounded approximately 200 people.

Up to 75 homes were damaged, as well as an apartment complex that was decimated.

Obama so far has sent prayers and money to the town, but not himself.

According to Bridget Johnson at PJ Media, Texas senator Ted Cruz said it is “doubtful” that Obama will visit the town.

He will have ample opportunity. The president, along with First Lady Michelle Obama, will be in Texas two days this week, heading to Dallas Wednesday for a Democratic National Committee fundraiser and then remaining in the city overnight.

On Thursday, he is scheduled to attend the dedication ceremony for the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas.

But he may be on a tight schedule as he is supposed to attend the Planned Parenthood Gala in Washington Thursday evening.

In 2011, while running for president, Governor Rick Perry boasted about limited the effectiveness of government.

"I promise you one other thing, I'll get up every day to make government as inconsequential in your life as I can make it."

Today perhaps the governor woke up to the reality of what happens when government becomes too inconsequential to oversee the safety of the residents of little towns like West, Texas.

Texas Representative Who Voted Against Sandy Relief Seeks Federal Money After Explosion

April 18, 2013 By Allen Clifton

Today, less than 24 hours following the devastating explosion of a fertilizer plant in West, TX, Governor Rick Perry made a statement declaring the area impacted by the explosion a disaster area. He’s now asking for President Obama to follow suit in declaring this a federal disaster emergency.

Yes, you read that correctly. Rick “Secessionist” Perry”, the man who constantly rallies against government spending, took less than 24 hours to ask President Obama for money—from the federal government.

The same Rick Perry who rallied against the Stimulus bill passed in 2009, while bragging about his balanced budgets—which he balanced with stimulus money, didn’t take long to extend his hand and request government money for his state.

Oh, but there’s more. West, TX is represented in Congress by Bill Flores, who is also asking that the government declare the impacted area a federal disaster—and is requesting federal money.

Why is this a big deal? Well, it just so happens that Mr. Flores was one of the 67 members of the House of Representatives who voted against the Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief.

As always, when Republicans want help from the “big bad government” and federal money, they’re usually the first in line demanding sweeping regulations or funding for what they want. It’s only when that same government opposes their ideology or spends money on someone else that suddenly it’s “giant government and out of control government spending.”

Then again, as Rick Perry proved by bragging about his balanced budgets (which were only balanced because he took stimulus money) while rallying against Obama’s 2009 stimulus bill, being a hypocrite is nothing new for him.

As for Mr. Flores, feel free to contact him to let him know what you think of his hypocrisy.

no one needs a college education or phd to come to the conclusion that was not an educated decision. ...

Perry didn't say a dam word about limiting the effectiveness of the government. Only keeping it from abusive in one's life.

DNC fund raiser AGAIN  When is he going to stop using Air Force One to fund raise for the DNC and do his friggin job? AND Obama at Bush's dedication ceremony  that will be like a turd in a punch bowl after all the blaming he has done over the pass five years. If I were Bush I'd lock the door when I saw Barak and Moochelle coming up the walk

As far as not having time to go to the plant, you can bet if he sees an elite golf course from the window of Air Force One he will make time to play a round but go visit the burned out plant and the victims families hell no he has to get back to Washington to support the abortion clinics. :x
