Remember the 50's- and the 60's/70's- first with the beatniks and then the hippies- and how the older folks just about had kittens how this younger generation would be the end of all time....Elvis, Rock and Roll, The Beatles, the Twist--all those evils...
Now that generation is grandparents- that are the Doctors, Lawyers, Business owners...One was even President.....Many retired or preparing to retire- and turn it over to the next generation-- that will do just fine...
OT surely you have been around enough to see that each generation has out rebelled the previous one and it is catching up to us.
There is a big difference in what the youth today are into and what they were in Elvis's day.
Besides how many Mothers and fathers lost their children to acid trips that those hippies they associated with got them involved with.
You are looking at only the survivors not the fallen. I do not want to take a chance that my children are one of the lucky ones that live through bad association.
They will make enough mistakes if I keep them on the path of less danger than if I throw them to the wolves and assume all people are good and all association is OK.
I think it is an irresponsible parent that lets their kid associate with any and everyone just because they want to be politically correct.
There are bad people out there in this world and it is best we recognize this for our and our kids sake! Not all people are good that is reality!
