The Collins Report predicted today’s IRS calamity. Blood doesn’t come from stones
The Collins Report | April 14, 2009 | Kevin Collins
In a March 11, 2009 essay this column predicted the calamity the Internal Revenue Service is reporting today.
Calling the coming meltdown a “Quiet Taxpayer revolt” it described new categories of taxpayers who would not/could not “pay up” because of the recession Barack Obama and the Democrats have inflicted on us.
Some patriotic Americans, it said, will brave consequences and not pay because of Obama’s tax cheating Democrats.
A second new category of taxpayer will be just “tax filers” unable to pay because their money is gone.
It predicted: “These childlike liberal upper middle class voters will join them, not in protest but in a naïve belief they will be excused by their Dear Leader. Liberals don’t see tax cheating as a crime, just a little mistake. This foolish view will be an important ingredient in a surprising taxpayer revolt.”
That essay also predicted taxpayers would be sending in their returns with cute little hand written notes (like mothers send in for absent school kids) instead of the checks Obama will be looking for.
Now the day before Tax Day 2009, many of Obama’s college educated lefties have opened their first quarter IRA statements and realized they didn’t get the type of change they voted for. Reuters is reporting the IRS is experiencing a “large uptick in first-time delinquent income taxpayers”( read the “notes” predicted else how would the IRS know they have so many delinquencies?).
An IRS spokesman said, “”We’ve seen a huge rise in what we call the rookie delinquent taxpayer,” he said. “They are incredibly scared, and they have no idea what’s going to happen to them because, God bless them, they’ve never owed before.”
Obama’s recession and his taxes are crushing many Americans. Let’s hope they are ready to join us at a TAX party tomorrow.
