Zimmerman plans to continue lawsuit against NBC

There are some excellent comments after this story, IMO.
Looks like a long list of those he could sue for defamation of character.
Did anyone see Hannity the other night where he ran the rest of an interview with Zimmerman in 2012 where Zimmerman helped a homeless
minority person that hadn't been treated well by the police??? They are going to have a hard time proving he is racist.

Doesn't the DOJ have something more important or pressing to do. Things like Fast and Furious, Benghazi, the IRS and NSA scandals? How can Holder even hold his head up, let alone infer Zimmerman is racist.
I think I'm beginning to be racist. Only in the opposite direction.
The jury decided and some people just can't believe the LAW prevailed.
They go totally on hype, not truth.

With his acquittal in hand, George Zimmerman plans to resume his defamation lawsuit against NBC News for its coverage of the call he made to police the night he came face-to-face with 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

The neighborhood watch volunteer contends the network's March 27, 2012 "Today" broadcast painted him as a racist by editing out significant portions of the discussion he had with police, The Washington Post reports.

NBC's abridged version of the conversation stated that Zimmerman told police, "This guy looks like he's up to no good. He looks black."

The full tape of the call went like this:
Zimmerman: This guy looks like he's up to no good. Or he's on drugs or something. It's raining and he's just walking around, looking about.
Dispatcher: OK, and this guy — is he black, white or Hispanic?
Zimmerman: He looks black.

Zimmerman started the lawsuit against NBC in December, but the case was put on hold pending the outcome of his trial.

Last year NBC News' then-President Steve Capus called the edit "a mistake and not a deliberate act to misrepresent the phone call," and said disciplinary action had been taken against the people involved.

James Beasley, a Philadelphia-based attorney representing Zimmerman in the case, told the Washington Post, "We're going to start in earnest asap."

Asked whether the innocent verdict in favor of his client would affect the NBC case, Beasley said, "This verdict of not guilty is just that, and shows that at least this jury didn't believe that George was a racist, profiling, or anything that the press accused George of being.

"That probably doesn't get you that much but it's simply time for us to start the case and hold accountable anyone who is irresponsible in their journalism," he added.

REALLY REALLY :? this NBC comment might mean something if they had not been caught red handed editing a Tea Party video to make it look as if the guy carrying the assault rifle was a WHITE RACIST protesting against a BLACK PRESIDENT. Who was later proved to be a BLACK guy protesting against a president the was threatening the SECOND AMENDMENT and his right to bar arms.

I heard the Prosecutor was out in the media today calling Zimmerman a COWARD as he did not take the stand and testify during the trial. I guess in the Prosecutor's eyes a defendant doesn't have the right to PROTECT himself from a beat down from a younger stronger CHILD or remain silent after all his comments were entered into evidence several times by the Prosecution.

The signs of a little man is when he can't except he had no case and the jury he picked to listen to the case found the defendant more believable than him.

I have a feeling he and his dimwit states attorney feel they can retry the case..

I bet at Zimmerman's civil suit case they are as bad and ignorant on the stand as they were in court...

To bring a lawsuit for malicious prosecution in Florida, a plaintiff must allege and prove the following six elements: (1) a criminal or civil judicial proceeding was commenced or continued against a present plaintiff; (2) the commencement or continuation of that proceeding was caused by the present defendant; (3) there was a “bona fide” termination of the proceeding in the present plaintiff’s favor; (4) there was no probable cause for the judicial proceeding to be commenced or continued; (5) the present defendant commenced or continued the proceedings against the present plaintiff with “malice;” (6) the defendant caused legally cognizable damage to the present plaintiff. See Central Fla. Mach. Co. v. Williams, 424 So. 2d 201, 202 (Fla. 2d DCA 1983)…

The existence of “malice” is the essence of a cause of action for malicious prosecution. “Malicious” means without reasonable cause and for a purpose other than that for which the criminal prosecution is provided and, therefore, out of ill will, animosity and with a desire to do harm for harm’s sake.

I would say calling him a lier when it was actually the persecution who mixed up the facts... and now a coward would go a long way towards showing ill will

imagine the prosecutors on the stand who repeatedly shouted ---- punk to claim ill will and hatred.. trying to explain how calling GZ a lier and coward is not ill will.. :?

If I were GZ I would go after Special Prosecutor Corey and her sidekicks as they never took this case to a Grand Jury to test the waters to see if they actually had a case to charge George with. When you have the Police officers that investigated the events of the evening, testifying under oath that they BELIEVED GEORGE was telling the true about what happen, that is telling to the case she had. She came in after the fact and pushed everyone aside and allowed herself to be influenced by Political Pressures from a group of Rabid Dog Politicians trying to use this case to push their own racist agendas. Then you have her sidekicks that are acting SO unprofessional with their name calling after the jury listened to their evidence and came to the same conclusions as THEIR WITNESSES and that there was NO CASE.

Back to Ms. Corey if she withheld evidence I would work to get her dis-barred. If she held onto the text messages from Trayvon's cell phone that might have proved he knew how to fight and was into drugs then she should pay for her questionable actions. The Defense should have had the right to show the jury the truth about that SO CALLED CHILD George was facing on that dark rainy night. But Nope the Prosecutors didn't want them to know just who George was getting beat by as it did not fit their narrative of a unarmed CHILD walking home with nothing more than an ice tea and a bag of skittles.

As far as the Judge ruling the defense could not use the texts as they could not prove they were Trayvon's. That is a bunch of bull just how many teenager do you know that give their private cell phone to somebody else to text? :? Chances are a lot greater they were his texts than they weren't and the jury should have had the right to decide for themselves if they believed they were his from HIS CELL PHONE.

Not all the evidence was freely given to the Defense and that was proven by a whistleblower from MS Corey's own office so she should have to pay dearly for obstructing the due process of the law. BTW she proved she treats whistleblowers like Obama does as the only one punished so far is the whistleblower for telling the truth about her behavior.

Looks to me like the DOJ and Holder should be investigating HER and leave
George Zimmerman to live his life.

Innocent til proven guilty. He's NOT GUILTY.

Most everyone that has been asked on FOX today feels Holder will say he will investigate the issue but after the FBI report already filed which says they question about 40 people and found nothing to prove George was a racist and the Prosecutor said this was not a case about race, they figure he is paying lip serve to calm the race baiters until Obama leaves office and can not he held accountable for not pressing Civil Rights Charges.

One even said if they, as in the FBI or Special Prosecutor, had any evidence that proved GZ was a racist they had no doubt this over zealous Prosecutor, looking to make a political name for herself, would have charged GZ with a HATE CRIME. Crap she charged him with Second Degree Murder and every lawyer but the Martin family lawyers figured she over charged and this case should have never been filed. So anyone thinking she would not have tacked on a hate crime charge if she had a shred of evidence they need to give their head a shake. The Political Pressure she caved to proved justice was the last thing on her mind and withholding evidence well that just proves how far she will go to win a POLITICAL SENSITIVE CASE. :x

That said, you can lay odds Holder and Obama will NEVER INVESTIGATE her. Promote her yes, investigate her not a chance.

I hope every one of their CREATIVE EDITING examples are brought into court to prove that network has a long history of changing a story to fit their liberal bias agenda. Zimmerman needs to pull out all the stops once his lawsuit freight train hits the tracks. They tried to railroad him so let him freight train them right into the poor house. It is time to put a little Credibility back into the MSM as they lost all their self respect when they set aside integrity to get their Crooked Junior Senator Hero elected. :x
