    Wet Winter

Glad you liked the pictures Soapweed. It is pretty country here, and we are anxiously awaiting Spring's arrival, as is everyone else I'm sure. It seems each year that comes around we look forward to the green grass that much more than the prior year. Must be we're just getting older.

The cattle were across the way, but our little 2640 got the job done!

    Wet Winter

We've had a wide range of weather conditions this Winter, but they all include some form of precipitation! Our cattle are doing well in spite of the conditions, but are eating up a storm. Most of our soil is red clay, which has made it difficult to get out into the pastures to feed. We unroll...

Just wondering how branding the calves affects the sale of pairs. Around here, very few cattle carry brands. Your mule looks like a pretty relaxed and dependable hand!

    Fall Work

Great pictures, enjoyed them. Your calves look nice size for 178 days old and younger.

Cows and calves looked great. So nice your crew is all family, makes it all that much better! Looks like you could use that stove, looks chilly out there.

Thanks Nicky, easier yes, but not nearly as impressive. Still, the same objective, moving cattle to grass. Always a good feeling.

Spread out grazing. Went from lots of bawling to the pleasant sound of contented cows chewing. :D Cow with a mouthful of grass, Ohio happy cows.

Gathering, starting to follow the bucket, moving to fresh stock-piled grass. Some of the calves investigating the empty bucket, the cows got all the corn.

    Cow moving

Thanks for sharing these pictures, they are absolutely beautiful and it's nice to know some folks are still living the cowboy way. We enjoy our cattle here, and admire the country and ranching ways out your way. It sure is a different way of moving cattle than around here. Our cattle have short...

    The Slacker and the Stacker

Thanks all. It really is pretty around here, especially this time of year. We are very thankful for all the green, and feel for those who are suffering drought conditions. It is usually brown around here by now, but we've had an abundance of rain all year. Stacker Guy, could use a cab at...
