    Found: Wolfhound in WY

We came home from our Christmas vacationing only to find a female wolfhound keeping the horses and sheep company. Took her home... she is very sweet, quiet, has great indoor manners, and gets along with other dogs. She LOVES people, although has not yet realized she is far too large to be a...

    Antique saddle appraisal?

Anyone know someone that does certified insurance appraisals on antique saddles? I have an old 1910-1920's JC Higgins saddle that I would like to have insured, but don't have a clue where to start. Took it to our museum, but they could not give me an estimate. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

They won't teach where their food comes from. Grrrrrrrr!

Jody-'ya took the words right out of my mouth! I use Ag in the Classroom materials with local students as a guest speaker. It is an awesome program and I can’t wait to see what new goodies come from the Encana money. In Wyoming, Conservation Districts house what we call "tool chests", and...

Marriage Counseling (similar to Mad Wife Disease)

A husband and wife go to a counselor after 45 years of marriage. The counselor asks them what the problem is. The wife goes into a tirade, listing every problem they have ever had in the 45 years they've been married. She goes on and on and on. Finally, the counselor gets up, goes around the...

    Feed for weanling colts

Thanks everyone. I was hoping there was something out there that isn't as rich as the Omelene. The recommedation on the bag seems pretty high, although I would assume it is well researched. The older horses just get the purina horse block with grass hay in winter, and maintain well. (You...

    Feed for weanling colts

Thanks. I will look into it! We weaned the filly yesterday. It is always traumatic, even though the mare has pretty much kicked her off!

    Feed for weanling colts

What's your favorite? I feed Omelene 300, but less than the recommended amount since I don't like to give a baby that much grain. Any other products that you have had success with? Just asking because we have a late filly that we need to wean, and with the weather suddenly turning to winter I...

    2007 Farm Bill

D-that is a valid fear that many of us share. I don't know at this point whether the funding will be cut, and if so where the cuts will show up. Which is why it is important for folks that have utilized those programs to speak up before congress crafts the new bill. The focus of the meeting...

    2007 Farm Bill

Hey all! Just got home from a snowy statewide meeting where one of the main topics was the 2007 Farm Bill. It appears Congress will begin drafting the new version in 2006, so I would encourage those of you with an interest in upcoming Farm Bill programs to contact your congressional delegates...

    Introducing myself...

Rancher, thanks for the invite, but I am crappy at cards! My mom always told me I didn't have a good poker face :P OK, here is one of my favorite places to trail ride. Once you get past the hikers, that is! This is a photo taken by my brother-wish I could take credit for it. But it is...

    Introducing myself...

Thanks for the warm welcome! I promise I will stay out of the Political Bull-I get enough of that at work... I guess we live more west-central than central Wyoming. Near the Wind River Mountain Range, about 50 feet from the reservation. It is really beautiful, and like our state...

    Hancock Horses question

We love our Hancock horses! I especially like the Blue Valentine colts. Cross them with Driftwood lines and you got yourself a horse! I like a horse that can take a long day in any kind of country. I will admit that, on ocassion, they may border on the stubborn side, but mine don't buck...
