    A few more fencing photos

I looked up the Moore Maker barbed wire grip to see what it was, and it's exactly the same as the ones I use. I got mine at Tractor Supply several years ago--I think the name on the package was Speeco. I do recall that the first one I bought was unpainted and said "Made in USA." After I...

God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy!

Checked it out when I came in for dinner and now it's stuck in my head  "it's just some extra love around her waist"

    v10 vs. powerstroke

My vote would be to keep on driving the good 7.3. Spend whatever it takes, within reason, to keep it going and the cost will still be less than buying/trading for anything else--and you know what you got. My uncle operated on that theory with his combine. He had an old IH 1460 that got whatever...

God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy!

This Billy Currington guy deserve a "second listen." I had dismissed him as just another bubble-gum country act but came across a few of his songs that got my attention recently. He did a re-make of "Lucille" that I really like--almost better than the Kenny Rogers original. Others that got my...

    Alright, I'm a Dummy

It was quite a sight!!!! The conclusion to the saga was amusing as well. I asked him later on how he turned out with the saw. He grinned and said he did pretty good on the whole deal. Never did get it to run right after that, so he "accidently" forgot it on the edge of the loader bucket and...

    v10 vs. powerstroke

Haven't been around any V10s personally, but a neighbor had one for a short while. He never complained about power or mileage, but did have trouble with it stripping threads and blowing spark plugs out of the heads. The second time that happened, he traded it for a diesel and is very happy now...

    Alright, I'm a Dummy

Reminds me of an incident several years ago involving a chainsaw. I was going to help an old neighbor, who is quite a colorful character, clear some brush out of his fencelines. He knew his eyesight wasn't the best anymore, so he had a pair of "well-worn" reading glasses that were missing one...

    A few more fencing photos

At the risk of inciting the drama of PB here, I saw a t-shirt after the presidential elections that had a big maple leaf with CANADA! at the top. Below was printed, "is looking better all the time......." :D :D :D

    Alright, I'm a Dummy

Can't imagine that only half a quart of 30W will be a problem, especially in the summer. Better for it to have that than to be run low. I'm no engine expert, but speaking from experience concerning windmill gearbox lubrication, guys who insist on using heavy weight oil, like 90W gear grease...

    A few more fencing photos

I can't take credit for the corn, but I'll pass along the compliment :D . The braces are a factory made 9 ft. long u-channel with the ends pressed into a tab with a hole for a 3/8" bolt. 2 1/2" lag bolts attaching the ends to the posts makes for a really strong holding brace.

    A few more fencing photos

The attachment I use to turn the anchors into the ground. Sure is easier and faster than turning a 4 ft. stake with a 5 inch plate into the ground by hand  . unrolling the wire Stockade staples that the barbs can "slip" through are done in strategic locations along the rise and fall...

The life and times of a slacker.

Did you mean life and times of a "stacker" instead of slacker? Doesn't look like my idea of slacking . Sure is pretty country out there! Thanks for the photos Leanin' H.

Some fencing, some windmilling, and a tractor

Thank you talldog. NC is a bit out of my usual radius, but I'd be happy to provide moral support; I could "supervise" from my computer chair....does that pay very well? :cboy:

Some fencing, some windmilling, and a tractor

They are nearly 4 ft. in the ground. When driven to until the post driver "bottoms out," the posts will be 50"-52" tall and 8 ft. posts are used for the braces.

Some fencing, some windmilling, and a tractor

Hmmm....just a guess, but probably not SUV induced greenhouse gasses  . I usually use anchors with a 5" plate on them, but have installed the 6" version for added holding power. If you've had trouble with a "pull out," you might consider a bigger sized anchor plate than what you had. But...
