You aren't making that up are you Oldtimer? http://www.countryoforiginlabel.org/ht/d/sp/i/34493/pid/34493 Given the costs associated with recordkeeping and the necessary segregation of livestock and meat in plants based on their origin that will be critical in ensuring label accuracy, that...

The following summary provides an overview of procurement practices at U.S. plants. This information is subject to change as plants continue to adjust to country of origin labeling (COOL) requirements. Historically U.S. plants would have bought Canadian cattle when local supplies were tight and...

The discussion was around the segregation that packers were doing because of mCOOL. It is not about packaging but rather the segregation of cattle ready to harvest. I am surprised you didn't figure that out!

Wrong. It is the required segregation that is causing them to lower prices or to not buy Canadian cattle.

What if I told you Mcool would add value to canadian beef..

I was just clarifying my point. Someone else may feel like arguing but not me.

Beef Safety and Reason.....can they co-exist on this site?

Yes our steaks do taste great despite people like you telling our customers otherwise! Spreading third hand stories that target our product is an odd way of trying to convince cattlemen to support you in acceptance of your test.

    Good Bye NAIS..............

Arguing against you? I have no desire to argue with anyone, especially with someone who consistently chooses to avoid the facts. I merely corrected and added to what you omitted in your earlier post as well as adding further facts from other sources. The Montana system that YOU so quickly held...

    Good Bye NAIS..............

I am not about to get into a debate involving your usual exchange of stories or what someone may have heard but here are some facts. There were 5 bulls which had entered the US in April of 1997 which were sold from the May 2003 Canadian BSE source herd; they all carried CANADIAN ID. Sandhusker...

    Good Bye NAIS..............

Let's be honest. The incident you raise had very little to do with any US surveillance system and everything to do with the Canadian ID they were carrying. Despite the help the Canadians gave; state officials had no clue of which bull went to which destination point.

    Good Bye NAIS..............

What's your point? Are you suggesting that Mexico has any type of traceablity system or that the US is as poorly equipped as Mexico?
