My yearly vent, unsolicited and unwelcome USDA survey

Soap I am with you on this, Dad never filled one out and I haven't either. Dad got a call from the census one time while we were calving and told him if he didn't fill it out he could be put in jail. His response was great it is cold as hell out here and you better send a dozen or so idiots like...

Dad has a John Deere Gator with a cab and heat, love it the only thing he calves in now that he has bad knees and can't ride a horse anymore. The Kubota's are real work horses too.

    Loader Tractor?

Just remember you get what you pay for!!! My dad bought a McCormick for price and has had alot of trouble with it. The Kubota's are a light utility tractor so I would look at either a 6 or 7000 series JD the best buy for the money. I have ran all colors and green is always a good investment. If...

The cows don't mind it as much as they do the four wheeler and we can carry alot more junk. The only draw back it that with the full cab on it...

can some explain creep feeding to me ?

I mirror Turkey Tracks comments, we feed creep starting in August when the grass starts to run short. We have noticed fewer sick calves when we wean and they wean alot easier. We back ground our calves so the sooner they go to the bunk the more gain per day we get and the buyers notice the heath...

    BAD DAY!!!

Sorry to hear about the stud as for working cattle horse back or on a four wheeler we have done both but for different reasons. We use four wheelers to check or for short moves but horses for all the roundups and pairing out. Like most replies here both have there place on todays ranches and to...

    barn cameras

I know a guy who purchased the Ag Cam system and loves it but it isn't cheap. He put 4 wireless cameras in his barn 300 ft from his house and he said he very seldom has had to go out for a false alarm.
