And that 8500 acres hasn't been updated since last night. We heard it was it 3 guys who started a campfire, when they saw the landowner they took off. He tried to catch them and couldn't and the fire was already out of control. (Do have to wonder why he didn't put it out first)

Mike says "225 is considered a 'smoke' temperature". He usually smokes ours for a half hour then turns it up to 325. ISince it sounds like yours smokes alot you probably wouldn't want to smoke it at all. If you like it medium rare take it off just before that and let it sit for 5*10 minutes...

We have wind pretty much every day. We built a fire yesterday and will probably build one today.

Sprinkling when we left for church, raining good there (about 25 miles away) rained the whole time were there. Got home to just having the dust settled. Everyone at church kept asking us if were getting the rain.

We love tip roasts on the pellet grill. Mike is the BBQer so I will ask him what he does. And yes you should be able to cook without smoking it. It will always have some smoke to it but shouldn't be overpowering.

How much did you get? We were at the neighbors when it hit, the rain gauge said .75" but bet there was more as it was coming down sideways....flattened their hay. Came home and we didn't even have puddles.
