    09 F250

We're driving an '09 Chev, and we're not too hipped on it either. Gas mileage is horrible, rides rough in my opinion, same non-stop seatbelt dinging also. (I also tell my husband to put his on so it'll stop! :) ) I have a hell of a time backing it up because I can't see anything, too many blind...

    Round baler info

Ours, too. Nicky, we just fed our bales with a bale processor. You can adjust them to make the rows as long and wide as you want. Cows locked up in the corrals just got a bale in a bale feeder. Our last bale processor was a Haybuster, we really liked it better than the two BaleKings we had...

    Round baler info

Like Mr. and Mrs. Faster Horses, we also have a 2005 Vermeer 605M. My husband really likes it, but in some situations, it is quite difficult to get the bale to start, and it tends to plug the pickup. Personally, I just think that's operator error! :) Don't tell him I said so! But the...

Still plowing snow in the great white north!

LOL! I felt kind of foolish when I see both posts showed up on here. That stupid debugger kept popping up, so I didn't know if either one had gone through. Oh, btw, things did get pretty interesting yesterday. I guess we got rain before we got snow, and then the wind blew, making the snow stick...

Still plowing snow in the great white north!

Snowing like a bugger here this morning. And it's a wet snow, going to make things interesting!

    I guess I just cheat!

We always fed ours every day with the tractor and bale processor, then I'd get out and walk amongst them. Always got to have a good look at the cows when they were eating, could see who was getting close to calving or who maybe had some sort of problem. At night, when I checked, as I walked by...

    Aluminum Stock Trailers

MR, why waste your money on an aluminum trailer when you can get the best trailer built practically on your doorstep? We got a Norbert, and it's the best trailer going. We even have guys with aluminum trailers admiring it and asking questions about it.

    New Ranch Toy

We have a Highline bale mover, one of the best investments we ever made. We find if the hay to be hauled is close to home, it's a whole lot faster moving them home with it than it is with the semi. The semi now is only used when we have to haul any distance, and it takes two people to move bales...

    baleing straw behind 9760 sts

If you have a hot day with everything being so dry when you combine, the rotary combine will chew the straw up so short, you'll find it very difficult to bale behind. We tend to bale the straw that is dropped later in the day when things get a little tougher.

    Round balers

We've had NH, Case, and now Vermeer. Hubby really likes it. Best friend has one, too. There's the odd glitch with them, but then there is with all balers. The two of them like the Vermeers because of the solid bales they make.

    Wheatheart Post Drivers

I hope you get your trip to Canada, FH. Right up to Saskatoon! If you do, give me a shout, I'm only 15 minutes out of town. BTW, we have a Wheatheart pounder, but the tractor powered kind. Bought it used years ago, pounded alot of posts with it, and it's still working good.

    bale proccessers

Go with a Haybuster. We had a Baleking, used it for quite a few years, thought it couldn't be beat. Then one day in the spring of 2005 the rotor broke. We needed something to feed cows with still, so we rented a used Haybuster. Hubby was so impressed with that machine, he bought a new one last...

    Kid's 4H picks!

Megan, Sara, Emily, Ty. But what do I know??? We raise Herefords X Simmental! It could be the two blacks one, two, bwf third, and the red calf last.

Hubby's spending money again..... new baler!

Just out of curiosity, I started looking at the dealer ads in the papers. Used John Deere balers, two or three years old, were still being advertised for sale in the high $30,000's price range.

Hubby's spending money again..... new baler!

FH, if you don't mind me asking, what were the upgrades? As soon as you said you had been notified, I got to wondering if our M is a 2005 model. If it is, I'm thinking we'll be needing the upgrades on it, too. We REALLY don't want to have to deal with the belts on this one tearing all the time, too!

Hubby's spending money again..... new baler!

Well, I know the Deere was over $50,000 because we looked at buying one last year. The price chased us away awful fast. We had an RBX 561, but hubby didn't particularily care for it, or the BR 780 for that matter, since they're basically the same baler. Green machinery is pretty popular around...

Hubby's spending money again..... new baler!

Do you know what a new John Deere round baler costs up here??? Over $50,000!!!!! Actually got a call yesterday from Vermeer, there was a change-up on the belts and the problems they were causing a year or two ago, the dealer never let us know. :x Too late now, though, the paperwork has been...

    Wide pickups vs. gathering wheels

This new baler we have has the wider pickup. Hubby likes it alot better than the gathering wheels that were on the one we traded off.

Hubby's spending money again..... new baler!

Other than the belt issue with the old Vermeer, he loved the baler. It made good, solid bales, and the monitor is second to none. He never had to look behind him when he was baling, the monitor told him what to do, when to do it, and if there was a problem. Only time he ever looks back is to...
