We have planted sourgham sudan along with turnips. Yes the sudan will go down after a frost but we don't usally have to worry about really deep snow. Great feed as long as you don't have to preg test while on the turnips.
You shouldnt have a problem since nitrates accumulate in the lower part of the stalk. But for 20 or 30 dollars a test is pretty cheep insurance. I have seen some pretty nasty train wreaks in this area with nitrates.
A few years ago I sprayed a pivit corner of grass with Curtail and grazed it along with the pivit of corn stalks. The next year I had alot of two foot circles of nothing in the beans. This was grazed five months after application.
-8 and 15 inches of snow on the ground. Don't have heat in the calving shed so sleding them to the house to get them dried off. Hope no one needs to take a bath when they get up.
How do you keep the mice out of the cab?Yesterday when I turned on the air conditioner it smelled like someone had passed on.It must have gotten as sick of combining as Im getting.
My mistake we use Bar Ext Traveler 205. The oldest in the herd are coming threes. Hope attitude dosen't come with age. When some one else is taking care of tmem in the summer the last thing you want is a lot of problems.
Just butchered a dry two year old EXT I can't wait -I finally get to bite one of those potlickers back-nothing tastier than a grassfat two year old .
Are you talking the old EXT or N bar EXT. Our N bars don't seem to be to bad.
Just drilled a new house well this spring 320' 9600.00 with submersable. The way our water table is dropping starting to wish we didnt have irrigation wells.
