    if you hunt Spanish johnny,,,before it's to cold,and during hunting season we went on a hunt and came home with multiple meats.venison,rabbit,squirrel,pheasant,quail,and turkey.u could add a little wild beef,pork or lamb I reckon.all mixed up in a dutch oven with onions garlic tomatoes spices...

    FH,the guys were discussing smoking of hams or pork.maybe I am out of place,as I realized this is a beef blog.and folks here prefer their beef steaks.anyway it was something new for me to try.wifey is raising old heritage hogs with floppy ears as we don't have enough acres here in the ozarks...

    concerning cooking outside;i heard a new one for me anyway.the boys went to the liquor store and bought a bottle of "butter shots" when injected like melted butter the meat had a taste of butterscotch..i haven't tried it yet,but looking forward to try it myself.

    finishing a ranch can be just as hard and heart breaking as starting one.keep thinking about the future.family may be involved,,,and sometimes family ,,money,,and perspectives come in place.thinking today,,, a ranch can be today or generations to come.

    yes,thanks for the ride.Pat and Nancy was a little way from home i think.worked with them both at the Humeston livestock auction for years.have done the 2-step to his guitar several times.they were neighbors within about 30 miles.brought home to the ozarks.

    does the poor young fellow that started out with a couple hundred head of cattlle own a horse,,or is he one of those new suit and tie cowboys?gonna write me a poem about the new suit and tie cowboy.the new younger generations are getting pretty savvy with their investments.

    like buying a new car..money.. how u drive,maintain,operate that car determines your success. it could take generations to build up a good ranch or u could marry into one.inheritance and experience helps. a good wife with a good job with life insurance and benefits would help.
