    Cow Comfort Inn

Very well written TTB. You basically hit the nail on the head! Thank you. We got a wonderful wet 7" of snow out of this little snow event. That should settle the dust for a couple of weeks! Hope you folks got some up your way also. Fat Cow--- First let me welcome you...

    Cow Comfort Inn

Sally is right---It's a calving pen from Box S Mfg. out of Baltic S. Dak. I saw it out at the stock show in Rapid City 3 years ago and had to have one. A very good investment for our operation. Sally : your husband is going to really like calving pen. Main thing is to really anchor it...

    Cow Comfort Inn

Every year thousands of ranchers experience the first calf of the season. Each ranch is different, yet many are alike in some ways. We start the 1st calf heifers earlier then the range cows, so bring them home so we can tend to them closely as they experience their 1st born. I thought I'd...

    Cattle Pics

Nice pictures some fine looking bovines. Grass looks like it's coming good. Should be coming even better after these next few days of showers, lets hope. Boy JB. A fellar would have to make a big old reservation loop to catch a couple of those old girls.

    Study of Rocks Part 2

Good pictures again Tap. I've heard of those markers made by sheepherders but the only ones I've seen are up by Timber Lake and one east of Union Center south of the highway. Doubt if that was a shepherds marker. Looked more like grave marker. Jingle Bob probably planted a traveling...

    No cattle pictures this time.

Neat pictures Tap. Like the rock shaped like a table. Glad it's not in my pasture. When the guys that help me gather cattle would find it, a card game would break out and we'd never get anything done. You sure got pretty country up there! You're getting to be be an excellent...

April calving and weather (pictures added)

Good pictures Tap. You run your operation a lot like ours only you've more grass and water. Can't beat the pasture calving when the weather cooperates. With old grass left like your's, grass tetany is no problem when you cake every once in a while. When it warms grass tetany could...

Some of the better Mirages I have seen.

Great pictures Tap. That first one sure looks like an old man with a hat on leaning agains the hill looking out on the range. Probably Jinglebob, wishing he hadn't given up this site for a couple of months.

    Vaccinating cows, yesterday and today

Thanks for the pictures Soapweed. Really enjoy seeing the calm looking way you work the livestock and your working facilities. I can't help but notice you get quite a bit of snow down there but seem to melt it off rather quickly, and might have dust in the next set of pictures. Would you say...

    Cows on a cold day

Very interesting. I always wondered how you folks kept your windmills from getting wrecked, cause if your country is anything like ours we sure do get some windy days & nights. Cows lookin good as are the pictures.

    Beautiful Calving Day

Cows look good. Bellies full, warm sun, contented, looks like they even have something to graze on. Happy cows that look well taken care of. Good job, OT. :-)

For-Most Squeeze Chute and Headgate !

We got one a couple years ago. I got both the manual and automatic head catch. First year I used the manual one it about killed my arm, but they never backed up and went right out. Also the manual headgate works wonderful for doctoring or eartaggin larger animals. Sure immobilizes them...
