Which sale to put in for?

from what i've seen the last few years the guys that sold early wish they would have waited. i normally sell a little later. but either way they are worth a lot of money and i don't think you can go wrong one way or the other. we all know being greedy and hoping for a little more can backfire.

    Triplets

had a couple sets of twins so far and after about 5 days of packing one or the other clear across the pasture to find mom, i pulled them and brought them to the barn.. kids needed more chores anyways.

    question for angus folks

personally, i wouldn't use him on heifers. i like to see at least a +8 CED for heifers. both Destination and Shear Force are fairly proven and neither are what i would call heifer bulls. IMO is leasing a bull an option?

    Conventional and organic agriculture myths

there are several different agencies/levels that are able to certify an organic operation. some are certainly less strict than others. our farm ground and pasture was certified for about 15 years with an agency that is the strictest of strict. we were allowed to use ABSOLUTELY NO pesticides...

Food for thought for winter calving

that's only after those that calve early have already explained to you how cold and miserable calving has been and how hard they are working.
