That's what I was thinking. I don't think that bull in the photo was from us. He got a couple each year the last 2 years, and some commercial bred heifers as well last fall. We are working on selling his calves now as well. Really nice family!

    Around Here

Things look great around here. Probably the best hay crop we have ever had. Fields are making 3 bales or more per acre. Best field we have had yet was 18 acres and it made 80 1300 lbs bales. Our oats looks awesome. When I walk into it, it is right at my elbows and just starting to head out...

A few photos from this past week

No we probably should be, but we need the bales, I think it will all be ground and fed through the feedlot. We have a silage pile that we never opened up this winter, and have 200 acres of corn silage planted again this year. So we should have plenty of silage.

    crop photos

I took some photos of our oats, corn, and sorgum. They look as good as we have ever had them look at this stage. Rain makes anyone look like a good farmer. :) Have a look. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151739935893970.1073741828.145126118969&type=1

Grasses, depending on the pastures. They range from Crested Wheat un some of the pastures to more native grasses in the others. The way south pastures are in heavier soils and they are full of western wheat grass. I don't know what "forbs" are. Crest is a great grass early. It will green up...

    Photos of a couple herdsires

I am really impressed with the Victory calves. So far I think we have only had calves by him out of heifers. They come without any trouble, then the grow nearly like a performance bull. At a year of age they look like a performance bull. They have good muscle, length, and depth, with pretty...
