    Ranch pictures 7-24-2013

Sounds like your cab mounts have settled a little. A little adjustment to the shift linkage will fix the shifting problems. I have a 4440 with a loader. That series of tractor was one of the best JD made.

    March in like a lamb.

Same thing down here. Visibility less than 50' at times

Pictures, as of July 20, 2012

As LazyWP said 100 gallon sprayer will put out a lot of fire if used right. They work really good in tandem with a larger truck. Put one of them behind a truck like I run, a Ford 550 hauling 500 gallons and you will put out a lot of fire and keep it out. The lead truck puts out 95% or better of...

I sold a NH 275 baler with an engine on it in working condition for less than it will cost to fix your 14T

A Couple Pictures From The Farm

At least you have a cab. 8) JD 70 with 12' drill for 30 acres of hay barley. Taken last year, it's not that green this year.

    IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!!

I started with a NH 275 about the same vintage as your JD. Now I run a JD 347. The others have given you good advice. The slip clutch needs to be adjusted each season, they will stick when the baler sets over winter. If it is properly adjusted you wont have to worry if you put a bigger tractor...

I did that Thursday, had one that didn't pass. Finding the one makes it worth doing.

Different ways to start a range fire.l

A couple of counties over from me, a farmer after being told 3 times not to burn a field in red flag conditions did so anyway. It got away, now he's on the hook for a million$ of damage and suppression costs.

Different ways to start a range fire.l

What no pictures of the fire? A week ago I responded to a hay fire at the neighbors started by a hay grinder. My guess from what they told how the bales were stacked about 600-800 big squares burned. There are both positive and negative lightning strikes and only one will start fires...

    Hardly looks like winter

Things look about the same here. Kinda nice but we still have time to have enough winter to suit me.

    September 2 and 3, 2011

I'm about 45 miles northeast of Miles. We've had about double our normal moisture for the year so far. Its still greener here than around Miles. I've put up almost 3X my normal hay crop but after last winter everybody is putting up all the hay they can and hoping we don't have to feed all of it...

Soap, you were pretty close to the country I call home when you were in Miles City.

Around here if there are cow tracks it's usually safe, no tracks means you better find another place. If they sink in very much I'll find another crossing. This spring with all the rain there were soft spots way up on the hills. Some of those were found by experimentation.

Good pictures. I'm envious of your open winter since with the hard crusted snow all my republican cows have turned into democrat cows. :(

    Afternoon drive

The 2 hfrs look like they have wintered pretty good to this point. Your snow cover looks about like ours.
