The Art Drange Ranch south of Ismay, Mt. celebrated 100 years and 5 generations on the same ranch. We were invited to take part and I also went to take pictures for an article in the Tri-State Livestock News. Since you all don't get that paper, and because I thought it was a special event, I am going to share some pictures here. The Drange family is truly a wonderful ranching family.
It's easy to get a long ways from nowhere. The sign along Hiway 12:
Big country grass:
The ranch sign.
The ranch headquarters:
The immediate family. Photo taken in front of the old bunkhouse:
The food. This was just the start. They had so much food. Served
Philly Steak Sandwiches to everyone. Cheesy spuds, baked beans,
a wagonload of salads and another of desserts.
Although it was plenty warm, there was a HUGE turnout of friends and family. I'm anxious to hear how many attended. I mentioned to Art that there probably hadn't been that many people there all together in 10 years and he said, "10 Years? I'll bet there haven't been this many people here all told in 100 years." I bet he's right.
