12,000 ft

Wow. Those girls have really good feet under 'em to walk that rocky path. The last picture is amazing. Does your mountain grazing have that many trees in it? If so, is it hard to gather the cows? Or do they know what time of year it is and are ready to head home?

It is very tough to gather. Good dogs come in handy. Cattle are in good shape. It rained and hailed all day today. Lightning really got to popping. Found a few that got in the larkspur. Brought the doggies home. It's a tough place to run cows. But I love the country.

Do you find feeding High Mag before turning out in the high country that the larkspur effect is lessoned?????

We have tried about everything to avoid larkspur death lose. We need a herd of sheep to graze it before the cattle. But the forest service got rid of the sheep men. We use to not have as much trouble with larkspur until we were held down lower on the mountain, then we move up just as larkspur has flowered and moving to pod stage. I'll try anything. It's costly.

A lot of people in the foothill's who have larkspur around here use a product called "Silent Herder" out of Bozeman MT. I use it to prevent bloat when grazing some high percentage alfalfa pasture,so far so good
